Uh-uh, he has the best, bigliest, most successful reason not to come to Englandshire. Any other suggestions are just Fake News :ttth:

Totally unrelated to the UK visit news but also today:
"Why are we having all these people from shithole countries come here?" Mr Trump reportedly asked lawmakers during talks on an immigration deal.
He was apparently referring to Haiti, El Salvador and African countries.
The White House made no attempt to deny the comment.
Vile turd.

Have you seen Michael Moore suggesting people from those countries ring their republican congress representatives to remind them that they're voting Americans from "shithole" countries?

Plus Moore threatened to frack off Mar-a-Lago and I think Trump has now changed his mind about allowing fracking there  Moore was offering to move his fracking rig to any one else's area so that Trump would revoke permissions just to spite Moore

I can’t seem to link to it on my phone, but if you google Don Lemon CNN bless your heart, there’s a very measured video of Don Lemon addressing Trump’s shithole comments.

Blaming Obama for a Bush decision is such a chickenshit excuse for cancelling his trip to London.
It’s like a normal midlife crisis only with more chandeliers and foreign languages.

Florida is the only state exempt from offshore drilling. I can't imagine why :puzz:

So the government has shut down. How do they open it again?

They continue trying to agree a budget. Trump is blaming Democrats (but of course) but this is the first time this has happened when the WH and Congress are controlled by the same party. They've got a majority (just).

Well given people won't get paid and non essential services shut down (I think) there'll be increasing public pressure for someone to bend.

I keep thinking about what the reaction would have been if Obama had paid off a porn star to keep an affair quiet or made a racist comment about immigrants, or talked about grabbing women like they were possessions rather than people.

The shutdown wouldn't happen here, would it? I can't help but think democracy is quite flawed, really. We (the world) need a benevolent dictator (me).

No. Because we don't set budgets in the same way.

I think that all countries at the moment need a new party made up of nice moderates. It really worries me how sharply we are divided these days and I can't see a reconciliation.

I wasn't sure where to put this, but can any one here explain to me what is meant by 'exit o.riented Right' ?

I googled and it seems to be scary weird stuff but I'm not sure I get it... A very close friend of mine's husband is an academic and has been writing for J.acobite Magazine. That's how they describe their stance. Now I don't know whether he's a fascist or something... I don't really understand a lot of the articles on the website.

Hmmm... it seems like an inordinately pretentious right-wing libertarian type magazine.

Is it definitely J.acobite magazine or could it be J.acobin magazine.

Definitely the former! So it's like The Fountainhead type stance? Every man for himself etc.

It seems quite extreme tin-foil-hat territory to me?

And thanks, ruby.
