Post Re: Curly hair
I don't know. I'm skeptical so far, but I'll continue using it. I did it like they say to on the psycho-curly forum :look: Got out of the shower with dripping wet hair, stuck some product on it (Sunsilk curly serum stuff) then wrapped it in my microfibre towel for about 30 minutes. When I unwrapped it, I had good 'clumping' but it dried a bit crispy, which I'm not a fan of. Once it was properly dry, I scrunched it a bit which made it less crunchy. Mine tends to only go frizzy when I fiddle with it, but I currently have it wrapped in my new towel with no product, so give me a few hours and I'll give you my verdict.

Post Re: Curly hair
Ok. Hair is now dry using microfibre towel. I've taken a picture of the back of my noggin. Any suggestions as to styles/stuff to do with my hair/products (obv I'm taking note of what has been posted here and am heading off to hunt down some Lee Stafford tomorrow, and TBS is next on my list to purchse). I am going to ring the hairdressers (thanks Cos!) tomorrow and make an appt for next week. I'm assuming I want some layers in there? I don't want to lose much (any!) length so won't get it cut off. Its in ok condition and is very soft and fine.

Is that with no product? It's lovely, you are very lucky. All I would do with that is use a tiny bit of serum to cure slight fluffiness. If it is fine, product will weight it down anyway.

It is nice. I would speak to the hairdresser. Chances are, they see more people than just you with curly hair. :))

Have you been to the hairdresser yet, Boozle?

TBS honey shampoo/condition is the bollocks. I am now a complete Pip Hair Product Stalker

I got a haircut at Easter too and I dug out my towel turban thing, which means I don't have to tie my back when I get out of the shower. I'll never be CURLY CURLY, as my hair isn't designed that way, but it all seems to help and I've had more nice comments.

I am reading this as N has got curly hair and it's getting to the stage where I have no idea what to do with it. It has a mind of its own. I am going insane though as I wondered if I should buy him the sea salt spray. :mog:

I concur. And it does smell lovely. All LS stuff does.

I have given up on my curls :( It was too much to do before work, so I just wash it and tie it up now. Its what I have to do when I get my uniform anyway.

I found a microfibre towel in the supermarket, and I've stuck with using that, and I've found an SLS and sulphate free shampoo and conditioner brand, which I'm using. It makes a difference to the frizzies. We ran out of money, so no haircut yet. I will treat myself to one when I finish training. I hate hairdressers and get antsy about getting my hair cut, especially since I'm trying to grow it. I've not had it cut for over a year now!

I just had to nip in before bedtime to tell you I think I've found the holy grail for my curls! I used John Frieda's Luminous Colour Glaze clear glosser (there are coloured versions too), towel dried, put in curl cream, twisted my hair in strands then carefully diffused it with a nutriheat hairdryer until 50% dry. It has dried into the most perfect, glossy curls I have ever managed on my own. I kept going back to the mirror to check  It's day 2 now and still looking good. I think I've found my routine!

What is this please? Will it help my hair? Pictures/videos of how it works would be appreciated as I'm very stupid :flirt:

Can anyone tell me what to do with the front of my hair? What do you do with the front of yours when its curly? I clip mine up with bobby pins just to get my fringe out of the way, but I don't think I like it. Plus the sides of my hair are never as curly as the back. Damn you, awkward hair!

Boozle, do you really need telling? You get a fingerful of hair and twist it around your fingers to make a ringlet. Like if you were doing old fashioned ragrolling without the rags.

Curly hair + fringes is a bit of a dodgy area, they don't often work well together.

God, that sounds really bitchy, sorry. You know when you play with your hair? Like that, but with more purpose. :))

I don't have a fringe, it doesn't work for me with the rest of it curly.

Yep, twisting is what it says on the box. My hairdresser did it once and I was blown away. It's too easy! I experimented with my own hair starting off in a very anal way, making perfect tight twists that took forever. But actually, it's much easier and looks as good if not better to just twirl willy nilly. Just make sure the top layer is twisted down to the root so you get properly bouncy curls. Then gently scoop sections of the twisted hair into the diffuser and voila. Let hair finish air drying as that prevents frizz. And try that John Frieda glaze stuff, it's almost made me forgive him the horror that is frizz ease [sic].

This is a helpful site- http://www.mookychick.co.uk/body/curly-hair-styles.php

Also to buck the trend, I usually have a long, side swept fringe in my hair, I prefer it to no fringe.

That's exactly what I do, Snoozy. It makes it so shiny, doesn't it?
