I do have trifle plans but they are going to have to wait till I can have people in my house as Zirk does not like trifle. I'm going to make it exactly as my mum did, sherry soaked Swiss roll, tinned fruit and strawberry jelly, custard, whipped cream, crumbled up Flake.

I'm not a massive trifle fan, but it needs sherry. Most things are improved by the addition of alcohol I find.

I had a glass trifle bowl with matching small dishes, which was another thing I liberated from my mum’s discards, and used it to take a strawberry mousse to a dinner party and never got it back again

Here is my new trifle dish set. I don't suppose anyone but me will like them.

I love these. I had a friend when I was wee (Miriam the Actual Fairy) and her family had the same set. Her mum used to give us brown macaroni with ketchup and salad cream in them

We have one but because it’s for camping, it’s a fold flat one which isn’t very stylish.
