Re: Does anyone use a steam mop?
Ah we already have a handheld shark one apparently so I think I would be doubling up on stuff and I like the fact the vax one has detergent that you can use as well - also a 2 cat household

Hmmm, Amazon reviews for the Thane one are very poor.

Re: Does anyone use a steam mop?
The online reviews of the H2O X5 one is what put me off, they don't seem great at all and a lot of people complain it doesn't work well in the handheld mode which was the whole point of it being better than the Vax, I thought, also people said that Thane Direct were rotten for customer service and problems that arise after you buy.
I am so tempted by the Vax one, my bathroom floor is doing my head in at the moment and I hate having to get down on my hands and knees and scrub at it.

Re: Does anyone use a steam mop?
I just re-read the thread, and you are probably right about the Thane one. The Which thing swayed me, but I don't like buying from companies like that.
I am tempted, but it would only be for the kitchen and bathroom as I don't think I'd trust it on the oak floors as they're waxed not varnished. So I'm not sure if I should just carry on with a mop, and save £50.

That's what's holding me back, we only have suitable floor in the kitchen and bathroom too, but saying that they are the two rooms that need cleaning the most.

The Thane one does have a 60 day money back guarantee I believe so you can always try it out for a bit and if you don't like it return it for a loss of about £6?

Re: Does anyone use a steam mop?
That Best Buy on the H2O is a bit skewed as it doesn't give stars for anything other than heating up time. And where's the Vax? If Hannie says it's good, it should be above the Bissell.
Ooh, me arse!

I have caved, I bought the S2S from Amazon. I had some vouchers so it only ended up costing me £22.41 in actual money.

You could buy about a million bottles of San Pellegrino for that. ;)
Quite a bargain though, I'd like to hear what you think of it.

The vax can be used to steam clean carpets also.
Also, I am washing my hands of this thread.

I have the Shark steam-mop and it works really well, but I'm not sure if you can get it there.

I got the one you told me was best, and I am saving up to buy the coral pads too cause you said they were good. I would never listen to the TV man over you, I am too scared of you. ;)Hannieroo wrote:Also, I am washing my hands of this thread.
Dizz, my understanding is that the coral pads are better on tougher stains and give more of a scrub than the regular pads, I fancied one for the bathroom.

They seem to be cheapest on Amazon, I had a look yesterday.
