Mr J’s (music studio) computer is on its last legs and he’s going to build a new one so I suggested we make the leap into the future and store our cds and use the space for a small desk so his old computer can be repurposed as a simple internet/movies/kids computer in the corner of the living room.

So I’m researching simple little desks as well. I’m not looking to spend a lot so it won’t be as nice as Emma’s.

My last desk was super cheap from
Ikea and I loved it! It was just cheap but nicely shaped metal legs :flirt: with a desk top. I reckon it was no more than $25 in total. I had my sewing machine and computer on it and it was just big enough.

I did look at IKEA but ours isn’t super convenient so then I started looking at other things online.

These IKEA ones are $50-60 and come in some different colors but we’d go dark.

Mine was a white version of the top one. Our Ikea wasn’t convenient either :ella: but delivery wasn’t too bad.

Just a word of warning though, it was cheap but the top just sat on the legs, it wasn’t fixed at all but I got our neighbour to sort it for us.

There’s a nice glass topped one of the second too. I’m sure we could fix the top on somehow. Im tempted to just get a sauder desk as we have quite a bit of stuff from them and the quality is decent (for what it is).

Lovely, Wendy.

On the subject of desks, I finally got recently, it is leather topped, allegedly from a bank and cost me £20. I'm so pleased with it.

We have the glass topped one as our study desk. While it’s not fixed on it has never moved. There are wee sucker things that hold it in place.

Thanks Smal. They were meant to take three weeks to arrive but we had a call to say they’re in now, so I’m picking them up at the weekend. I hope they go with the table (which is from a different shop).

Some of the other. Two more expensive first then two least.

The third one, for me. I love that it’s so minimalist.

After measuring and discussion I’m afraid we went for an entirely different one much less aesthetically pleasing (although very plain still and practical). Space considered some of those wouldn’t work and we ended up going for one that had a space for the cpu which would be a bit of a pain otherwise.
