I really want a new front door because mine is getting draughty, but if its going to cost me £10k I'll just stick up a curtain.

Front doors are ridiculously expensive and difficult to fit and a right pain. As a result, I'm still living with this retro monger. Complete with reeded glass and aluminium.

I have SUCH a soft spot for all the stuff you want to get rid of Cos :))

Blimey, quite glad I no longer have a back door!

You are such a weirdo. Gonna save you some bathroom tiles though. And maybe some textured wall.

I got a quote for the door I liked and it was £1700. The one I'm getting is far cheaper. :))

We had something similar when we replaced our front door Shoe . A local glazing company (with showroom etc) wanted to charge over £2k to replace our bog standard sized door with a composite one. A local one man band charged a third of that.

We’ve appointed an architect. Once the drawings are with Planning I’ll start to contact landscapers as I’d like the garden done at the same time as the extension (assuming planning permission is given).

There is nothing redeeming about the pink bath. It's too small, is stained, is really uncomfortable and is ludicrously pink. The only thing that likes it is the cat and she has no taste.

I fear you are remembering my tree tiles with a slightly hazy clouded view Derek.

We had an (80s?) aluminium front door just like that in our old house Cos, and yeah, it cost us £1800 to replace it with a composite/steel door and side panel. We were selling the house though, and changing it made such a difference to the kerb appeal!

It's in the hitlist but I need to steel myself to spend that amount of money on something! Might wait until I actually leave the house and come back into it more often.

Still worried about you Derek :))

I've given our central heating guys a reminder as they said to contact them in the Spring to get our central heating system replaced. Once that's done we can look at new carpets in a couple of the rooms and decorating.

I love those tree tiles too!

I idly think that maybe I should have kept my pink bathroom suite, but in reality it was a bit hideous and I love my massive bath now.
If your back's against the wall, turn around and write on it.

One little job done for now! Our new house is very pelmety and beige  and it turns out the curtains in Tupac’s room didn’t even function so he’s had a sheet up in the window the last couple of days.

The living room has the same window and some slightly less offensive blinds so we’ve (well, A has) put them in that window instead. I think eventually we’ll get shutters at the window and some nice floor length curtains but a marked improvement for now!
