It really does, Nine. Sorry though.

I’ve accepted my new role. They are happy for me to continue my current work pattern and have said they’ll just move meetings around (with Directors General!) so that I’m still able to support. Anyway, I’ll start in a fortnight.

Thanks, Heebs. It’s been a long process, but I’m over the moon. Especially as it was advertised as “full time flexible”. My new manager seems utterly lovely.

Congrats, Est, and I'm sorry it was not better news, Nine, but definitely sounds like someone who will be unable to appoint anyone ever.

Plus his (pregnant) head of branding had been emailing me at 1am so I suspect it may have been a nightmare.

I've had the full feedback. Bear in mind they have been looking for the right person since December 2017.
She said you have a great CV/experience.

She found your test very encouraging in comparison to others they’ve seen

She really bought into your ability to project manage and put together a workstream, working and coaching multiple portfolio writers

She thought you were engaging and full of energy, which is always a real attribute in a start-up

In spite of all the positives, they thought that your second test could have benefited from some further thinking around how to evolve the brand tone of voice.

She said your thoughts were all relevant, but they were all around optimising the current state which is a very good observation, but there is a real question on what's next, why and how they can get there.

She admits that she didn't explicitly ask for you to lay down a 'strategy' but given that you took that lead, she was looking for some signs of what you would add on the job in addition to the immediate optimization.
I have also been told that 1) I wanted to change the TOV too much and now 2) I have not said how I want it to evolve.

I told the recruiter I think they are looking for the impossible!
