My phone has blown up.

Post by Marth »

Well, it hasn't blown up but the touchscreen isn't working. It was flipping out and now just will not respond. I've had it shoved down my bra all day as no pockets in my dress     , and it got really really hot.

Do you think it will start working again, or is that it?

If that is it, what 32g phone would you recommend to buy out right for around £200. (This was a Wileyfox, who have gone bust)

They should withstand hotter temperatures than your bosom, to be honest. I would leave it until it's completely cool, then try turning it on again.

It was very hot and a bit damp to be fair. :))

Anyone got an LG Q6?

I'd imagine it should work again but Mr G has an Honor 9 Lite which is great. I'm sure it's under £200 in Ar gos.

Ahhhh its so frustrating. The phone is working. I can see messages, WhatsApp, emails etc, but cannot access due to the touchscreen not working. It worked a moment ago and stopped again.

I'm looking into a Motorola g6 as I've repeatedly dropped my Wileyfox and have finally accepted that it not longer works as a phone or a camera (mic is bust, and the camera is soft focus/scratched)

Thanks both. I haven't heard of Honor phones. Do they have a decent rep?

My phone is repeatedly turning on and off, freezing and it has this weird blue green tint in the middle. I've stuck it in front of a fan in an attempt to dry/cool the bugger.

Partner has got a 32Gb Moto G5s. It was cheap but it's really good - it does contactless payments and unlocks with fingerprint. My Pixel is better but definitely *not* £300's-worth-better.

Honor is part of Huawei and most reviews I've read are very positive. The camera is very good and the standard editing features are great. Mr G spent a fair bit of time researching phones and recommends it to everyone who is looking for a new one. It has fingerprint recognition on the rear.

J works in IT and really rates Moto phones, he's got a Huawei just now but is just about to upgrade and is going for the latest Moto.

I do like the reviews for the honor 9 lite. T

I don't like the look of Motos as much (but I will look again) and Samsung comes with too much of its own guff taking up memory.

I hate blue phones too. And white ones.

This is infuriating. HTCs are the same. Also, I can break a Samsung just by looking at it and then end up walking round with a smashed phone, like a 13 year old girl, for months.

Partner's Moto is really good. I honestly recommend. I'm going to get one when my contract runs out.

The touchscreen may still be a bit damp :flirt: I would leave it overnight, maybe in some of the ubiquitous rice (that has helped me a couple of times) and see how it is tomorrow.

Wileyfox are not bust anymore, so you can get the Swift 2 plus or X.

P has just got a Moto G6 Play which seems pretty good.

I've had two Huawei phones, my old Nexus 4 and my brand new and very shiny P20 Pro.

The camera on the pro is amazing. I took photos in almost dark that looked like daylight.

The p20 pro looks very tempting, but I’m not spending that ££££ , the p20 lite is more possible but still a bit pricey.
