Post Knitting!
Hello, knitters!
Resurrecting this thread because after a long, long break I picked up my project yesterday evening and it's now almost finished! I have one row of raglan neckline, one row back, and then I have to do the edging, and then it's DONE.
And I can move on to the little hat and shoes for SIL's baby, and then stuff for my own baby. :disco:

Post Re: Knitting!
I really NEED to get back to knitting. I have a pile of half finished stuff as big as my arm and no motivation. Besides, I got sidetracked by leatherworking of all things!

Post Re: Knitting!
I have knitted jumpers both for me and for the kids and baby clothes but not for about 9 years.

I just need to get my stuff out of the bottom of the wardrobe and get on with something.

Any ideas on what I can start off doing

For a first project, baby stuff or a hat, or something that you can finish relatively quickly could be good, no?

It's all knitted up!! I need to iron it, sew it up, and do the belt thing. I don't know which would be better, knit a belt in the same yarn, or get some pretty ribbon in a coordinating colour? It's for a little boy, and the yarn is pale blue-grey merino. :puzz:

Anyway! Hopefully I'll finish it tonight and will post a pic then. :disco:

I've just learned to knit. Well i can do the basics, cast on, knit, purl and cast off. Now I just have to actually make something. I've found a baby blanket that looks relatively easy. I'm going shopping with my knitting friend to get the wool etc and I will start.

I'd love to make something!

Thanks Wenders, I think I'll do that. I blocked the front and sleeves two days ago and the two halves of the back yesterday. The damn ironing board is too narrow to block it all in one step :lg:. Hopefully it will be dry tonight, and I'll sew it up! I'm really glad I took the time to block it, it's been quite a pain but makes a real difference.

I've gotten started on this little hat for my future niece. SIL has asked LB to be her godfather so he's really interested in this project than he was in the others! It's going to be really quick, it's front stitch with 6mm needles!

That's really lovely LM! We used to have smocked dresses made out of the lining material of that hat!

It's Liberty fabric :hbeat:
Cos I'm cheap, I bought two pillow cases in Zara Home Kids that are in mock-Liberty, and will use that instead. I'm using dusky pink yarn.

I hear you! I was dressed in smocked dresses made by my mum in Liberty fabric until I was 12. :l:

Finally posting a pic of the little cardi I've made for Milo:

I'm now doing another cardi, for my own baby this time, using an old short row pattern. I'm using bright red Debbie Bliss Baby Cashmerino yarn, and doing it in size 3 months for Christmas. :l: So, shoot me.

That's the general idea of the cardi I'm knitting now (except mine won't have stripes). It's a lot of fun to do, I'm using little markers and it's really easy. It would be a good project for a beginner.

I'm sure there are lots but mine (T&T) is in French. Perhaps you can find a T&T one on Ravelry? (sorry, can't look for you, it's blocked at work).
