Re: Geocaching
Thought that or some kind of hydrant sign or a pipe. Didn’t find it though.

Re: Geocaching
There’s one in Bath which is a flat magnet in an H shape stuck to a hydrant sign. Something like that?

I knew it was hard so pre-messaged for a clue because I knew it would be wet and the children wouldn’t be that tolerant. That was the clue he sent.

Re: Geocaching
Apparently there’s also one near Bath which is attached by fishing line and dangling in a drain.

Re: Geocaching
Ended the year with 109 finds.
I’ve been solving local puzzle caches which is fun but now my map is covered with little puzzles pieces and I’m all itchy to go out and round them up. Unfortunately, several are not on decent walks with the boys and they are not fans of the cache and dash.

Get them before they’re stolen/archived
I did hardly any last year, I do want to find more time this year. I’m going to go out at lunchtime I think, try to get back into the habit.

Re: Geocaching
Oh good point! How frustrating that would be!
Do you go out alone? I feel a bit funny about that but some are urban caches so it would be fine. Seems silly to get the car out for them though. Totally going to go now though!

Re: Geocaching
I mostly go out alone and tend to only realise that’s not very clever when I’m e.g. up a tree.

Re: Geocaching
Job done. One puzzle and an easy nearby church micro. Was going to get another puzzle one but I missed a sneaky turning and couldn’t turn round.
I would like to reach 500 finds this year which means I need to find 147 this year and is more than I’ve managed before. I’ve done 11 so far.

Re: Geocaching
Well done! I got 2 on a muddy lunchtime stroll and I’ve just seen someone log a git of a puzzle (D4.5) which I couldn’t find 2 years ago. I was planning to go back with a flamethrower (see attached pic of brambles at GZ) but maybe that’s not necessary at the moment.

Maybe the site has been cleared up a bit?

Re: Geocaching
I doubt it. It’s a very short stretch of public footpath between a fast road and a cow field but I’m hoping I can take advantage of someone else having bashed their way through.

Re: Geocaching
I’ve solved a local history series today (5 caches) which involved a lot of reading and googling. No collecting tomorrow. Stupid work.

Got loads to do at home today so have been to dance class, had a second breakfast out and picked up two more puzzles!

Re: Geocaching
I am beating my head against a brick wall of a puzzle which I’m sure should be relatively easy. I think I’ve got the basic theme but I can’t get the numbers out. I would ask for a hint but it belongs to a friend and I don’t want him to know I can’t do it

I can take a look but I can’t promise to help!
