In the absence of my cardigan yarn, I finally finished a sock.

Then my yarn arrived and the other foot* will have to wait. I decided I didn’t like the cardigan edging so have changed it and I also want a short cardigan so have adjusted. It could all go horribly wrong!

*I’ll alternate so I don’t lose any toes.

Don’t be too impressed, it’s variegated and makes the pattern itself! Mine is dragonfruit but I like the look of this passion fruit one too.

Those Regia yarns are like magic :)). I remember the first time I made a sock with them, I kept showing M every inch or so 'Look! It's done this now!'

I stopped making socks after a while, as I couldn't ever get round to making the second one, and we have enough odd socks in this house.

I've always struggled knitting in the round so I avoid socks and variated yarns. I should research if there is anything else I could make with some.

I did that sock on two needles, happy to share the pattern Skips!

They can 'pool' when knitted flat (lots of the same colour together rather than forming a pattern), but often work well with a base colour in between the variegated yarn.

This is an example of how it can work - not the most straightforward pattern, but isn't it gorgeous? It is on my list to do one day. A striped scarf, or the yolk of a jumper can be effective too :)).

I did a gorgeous scarf (simple stripes) and a hat (simple two-colour pattern) with two different variegated nori yarns. Got the idea from the scarf on Brooklyn Tweed.

The scarf I made for Is' Secret Santa present was two different self-striping yarns. If you get the right pattern it an be very effective.

Speaking of two needle socks, my mum just sent me a pair from a book she bought recently.

She’s knits the same as me (or I as her, to be accurate) and we both find DPNs slower. The single seam becomes part of the pattern on the side (unlike mine where there is a toe seam). She said it has various weights and sizes, and my copy is on its way (we both paid less than a tenner so you have to keep an eye out).

I intend to buy this pattern when I've worked through a baby blanket for my best pal. https://www.etsy.com/uk/listing/9214449 ... ve_3&crt=1
Lazz, did you buy this pattern? If so, how are you getting on? I didn't realise this was the one you posted until I saved it on Etsy. :))

I spent some time yesterday sorting through my fabric stash/incoming fabric and have 20+ items of clothing to make, and that’s with not everything allocated to a person and/or pattern. :look:

I thought I better clear some WIPs, so made a few dolls outfits and finished some presents and a T-shirt for me off.

That sock yarn is like magic!

I've bought a miniature greenhouse kit  it comes with all the bits of wood/plastic pictures etc, and you glue it all together. I have mostly been making furniture.

Unfortunately I haven't finished enough projects to allow myself to purchase it yet :)) so do it for me!
