Post Re: Zumba
Our usual instructor, who is a dancer, is on holiday and we had another lady who was obviously an aerobics instructor in a previous life ... she worked us hard last night.

I loves it I do. Stopped going sometime during my pregnancy but it's great fun and it does burn some calories. Hmmm, I ought to go back actually...

When did you stop going? My gym is obviously about to introduce Zumba classes as they're doing taster sessions in the first week of July. It looks low-impact enough for pregnant women?

Well I finally made it to a class! I enjoyed it, but it wasn't as much of a workout as I was hoping for - I'm used to do body attack/body pump and Zumba was the equivalent of one of their warm-ups. Maybe it was just the woman taking it, and maybe once I learn the steps it'll be more of a workout, but I just didn't feel like it was doing much :look:

I do Zumba a few times a week for fun, I don't find the workout is the same intensity as some of the other classes I do (circuit, spin, pump etc) but I do get quite a good sweat up.

A lady I Zumba with has lost 8kgs over the last 2 months just from doing Zumba 4 times a week.

kaleni, your avatar makes me think of Once Were Warriors. This has nothing to do with Zumba of course. :))

Same here (except it's a once a week part of my routine). It's a decent workout, if not intense, and it serves as a fun "break", if you like, from the harder stuff.

Our instructor is a mental though, which is part of the fun. Does anyone else have to put on a jingly skirt for the belly dance tracks?
