Every Tuesday! I was thinking about popcorn tacos. But I needed to make something small people friendly and mine hate popcorn :george: mine were the grilled cauliflower ones, I added grilled onions to them too :ready:

Red velour cake - there weren't enough crumbs to cover the sides of the cake.

It was very good

I can’t get over red velour cake not being a typo! 😂

Gooseberry-strawberry cobbler. The kids demolished it!

First instant pot attempt (Mexican shredded chicken) is a bloody triumph if I say so myself. If not particularly photogenic. SO tasty.

Nope (although it totally is one pot). I threw - quite literally - in six chicken thighs, a jar of tomatillo salsa, a tin of black beans, handful of cherry tomatoes hanging about in the fridge, seasoning and a bit of water and the instantpot did the rest.

(I put in the sweetcorn and peas after and happened to have some microwave pouch rice but reckon you could do rice in the pot too - I need to do some experimenting.)

That looks great!

Despite all the haterz :ttth: I made this halloumi curry anyway and I really liked it. The sauce is really refreshing (though I didn’t whizz it up enough as it was splattering on me and I was being lazy and didn’t feel like decanting it) and I loved the coconut sambal. Mr J doesnt do coconut but tried some and he liked the curry.

It looks nice, Jet. I’m glad you enjoyed it. Having looked at the recipe, it does sound good, esp the coconut sambal bit. I feel bad for dissing because I always tell my kids not be be rude about other people’s food and I totally understand about not being able to get hold of ingredients :shame:

Thanks :)) sorry, I was being way over sensitive about it as well. I could eat the coconut sambal with a spoon :ready:

See my post above :)) I just pressed the "poultry" button and let the pot do its thing.

Tonight I tried chucking rice into a chicken curry and again using the poultry button. Which wasn't such a success as that way over-cooks the rice. Experimentation continues :geek:

You can do rice separately in the instant pot but I've never tried it alongside food. This website is heavily American but has some good recipes https://www.slowcookerfromscratch.com

I haven't actually, i believe that it works best using cup measurements for the rice and water though.

Yeah, I do a 1:2 rice to water ratio using the cup that came with it.
