Ooh yes, thanks kiwi. I can get on board with that.

My veg box has stressed me out this week. I literally had an entire night, last night, dreaming about what to do with the bloody BNS.

That sounds good too, cluef, thanks. I'm getting a million fennel heads, I expect, in the near future so it's good to have a bank of ideas.

I just got M to prepare the globe artichokes that we got last week thinking we'd have artichoke pizza. Let's just say we will now be having pizza with the merest whiff of artichoke. What a useless vegetable!

Oh no. They're like (live) crabs, by the time you're finished prepping them, you've got three bin bags of waste, a thimble of dinner, and no wish to look at them anymore anyway, never mind eat them. I like both better if someone else has done the work. :))

It's too early for BNS (in my head, not criticising the veg box's approach to seasonality :look: ). I'd be happy with one when it's more autumnal and I'm all about mushrooms and warm spices. Now, please let me have tomatoes, peas and big bunches of herbs for a little longer, please.

Yeah, we gamely prepped and ate our artichokes last time and agreed we’d just put them straight in the compost next time.

They are rubbish aren't they.

I agree that it is too early for BNS, it is for soup and warming stuff.

What did you end up making with them PG? I have two in my fridge and am looking for inspiration.

I riced one (for "fried rice" http://www.eatingwell.com/recipe/254623 ... ried-rice/ which was great - I've not tried boiling it in water yet), and froze half of that which is also an experiment :)) .
One has been put into a chickpea dahl which is also great - you're supposed to serve rice alongside it so instead I added in tiny florets so it's a one pot dish.
I made these https://healthiersteps.com/recipe/cauli ... uten-free/ which I found fantastic, really delicious (I think these were Wendy's recommendation).
Plus https://leelalicious.com/cauliflower-cu ... ound-beef/ where again I put a whole cauli in and then served without rice.

The calorie difference with rice is amazing!
