Re: Where have you eaten out lately?
Yesterday evening we went to Bermondsey Larder. I’d booked it ages ago and asked to sit outside, and then all the torrential rain happened . We did still ask to sit outside (not fully vaccinated yet) and they were very nice about it.
I hadn’t been before (although it used to be The Dairy in Clapham- then it moved- and I’d been to that) so was just expecting a casual meal, but then the waiter said they could do us a vegetarian tasting menu if we wanted, so we had that. It was so nice! My favourite bit was the mini boule of sourdough (too wee ), like a normal loaf but for two people. It came with smoked butter, which was also new to me.
That’s a really shit picture of the menu because it was quite windy and rainy. Everything was genuinely delicious. Even better, we were served by about 5 or 6 different people, and every one of them was genuinely lovely.
Has anybody else been?

I have, Ella! I went when it first opened last autumn. No signs of them finding their feet either - it was so good!

Yay, nince. It was so good, Goat, all of it.
We weren’t undercover for most of it but we had a patio umbrella that we put up right at the end. Also they did offer patio heaters and blankets, but we were fine without.
For triangulation, it’s just south of Tower Bridge.

We had one of each. The sweet cicely ice cream with the strawberries was amazing. I didn’t really know what to expect of cicely so it was a nice surprise.

Ruby - I’ve shared small plates with friends and the restaurants haven’t said anything

I didn't mean allowed by the restaurant. Partner just won't share food. He gets very peevish if I want to taste his.

I don’t understand people who won’t share food. Is he worried about going hungry???

If anyone should find themselves in Raynes Park (yes I know, the glamour!) you must eat at Mora Meza, a fantastic Lebanese restaurant where we ate last night. We had a veggie sharing platter and then ordered more sides because we are pigs.
