I read a very short Frederik Backman called The Deal of a Lifetime yesterday and now I have started Again, Rachel. I'm enjoying it but some of it seems almost a bit dated now?

I finished the Anne Tyler. Considering not much really happens, I enjoyed it and would read more (though not straight away, as recommended). I started the Sleepover sequel as my final book (though I'm actually going to aim for 4 more than my target, as it equates to a pleasing 'per week' number).

The Wombles: Elizabeth Beresford. Mr D hasn't read a lot of classic children's fiction so we started off with this. Absolutely delightful and so funny hearing Mr D saying to the dog 'we need to find out what's happening with Yellowstone and Bungo'

I enjoyed the Rachel books, Bean, but I’ve never got on with any other books by Marian Keyes. I tried one called Grown Ups, which was not my cup of tea at all.

I've never got on with Marian Keyes. Probably her fault rather than mine.

I got a book of short stories, Winter Spirits, a follow up to The Haunting Season which was a 2021 compilation for Christmas. I read one each evening. Some are better than others and I found the standard varied hugely in The Haunting Season too.

Alan Rickman’s book, Truly Madly Deeply, is on sale too for £1.49 if anyone is interested. I did have the hardback but gave it to a charity shop as it was so big

I just finished T3 and I loved it so much! I really liked the main characters and the whole storyline was fascinating, I thought. This has brought me 2 above my reading challenge goal.

Oh this is good. I'm desperately* trying to finish my current book to tip me over the edge but I have read a few heavy weights this year and they've skewed my speed (The Stand took forever to read just from volume of pages). I'm really enjoying my current book about the Princess Sophia Duleep Singh who lived at Hampton Court and was a suffregette.

Clubland: How the working men's club shaped Britain - Pete Brown. I loved this. Really interesting and I'd rather read this than kings and queens.

I enjoyed the audio version of this. He reads his own book well.

I read the final Harold Fry book, as well as Fortune (a wealthy widow tries to solve a crime by organising a DNA lottery) and Broken Summer (a Korean tale of a man looking back at the murder of young girl).

That’s me 4 over my challenge, making an average of two books per week. I can’t imagine I’ll repeat that, but it certainly cleared a few off my kindle!

I have been rereading the Hunger Games, I loved it first time around (about 10 years ago) but I've not enjoyed it as much this time. I still like it but I'm finding some of a bit gory, I think I must have forgotten those bits.
