Does anyone have any preference or insights?
I found a REN bio-retinoid cream sample on my stash after I finished the Algenist retinol and it’s seemed to make an almost instant difference to my skin, to the extent that I might buy a full size tube while I have a discount code at my disposal. It seems to be bakuchiol rather than retinol (which I guess is why it’s retinoid).

I think the Ren Bioretinoid range is brilliant, instant visible results.
I think other retinols take longer to work(post the peel stage) but make more of a difference long term.

Re: Retinol or bakuchiol?
The only bakuchiol I’ve tried is in the Omorovicza Miracle Facial Oil that I got in my advent calendar last year. It’s nice, but I wouldn’t expect it to do much in the way of anti-ageing. (Well, my impression is that bakuchiol is very gentle, anyway.) However, if the Ren one works for you, why not stick with it?
That said, products that show an immediate effect tend to have diminishing returns afterwards, I think.

I am alternating Dr Sam’s nightly which is bakuchiol with DE retinol. It’s a bit early to see any changes but neither have irritated so far :rhinoskin:

You’re bang on about diminishing returns, Ella. Oh well, I got the two together for under £60 from Allbeauty so we’ll see. I like the fact that sun exposure is less of a concern with the Ren stuff and Squeak remarked how good my skin is looking, so hopefully it’ll keep working!
The Inkey List Bakuchiol looks interesting for £10 too.

Just reporting in to say that I think my skin may look the best it ever has.

Did you get the cream or the oil or both Pip?
I really love Ren at the moment. I bought their Atlantic kelp range mainly because it matches my bathroom and I can get it delivered to my local M&S food but it is gorgeous. Their facial sun cream is nice too.

I got both but have only used the oil twice so far. I’ve been using the cream for about 10 days from a sample I found in my bathroom cabinet.
I’ve used a lot of REN in the past, their clay cleanser is lovely.

I love REN too. This sounds really tempting.
