Quite right, you wouldn’t want to spoiler him.

Re: Geocaching
I solved a set of Jigsaw puzzle caches during the last lockdown. I know from the logs and talking to people at a meet that the CO is a fan of rhododendrons and the finds require some scrambling. I know the family wouldn’t have the patience or will so I’ve drafted in my geocaching friend and we’re heading out today. Thankfully it’s sunny!

Re: Geocaching
I need to get out and check on one of mine. It’s a fake pine cone and it got very overgrown in the summer. I disabled it and our very keen reviewer keeps nagging me to sort it out.

Do you have to go far?
I had fun doing the caches today. Much adventuring through undergrowth! We only had time to go for eight out of the ten puzzles but picked up a trad we were passing too.

That’s not a bad haul.
It’s not too far, walking distance from home.

Re: Geocaching
Bumping this thread as I’ve just downloaded the Geocaching app as something to do with the kids next week on school holidays to get off screens and outside. I’m going to have a read through for hints and tips as this is all brand new to me.

Ooo, have fun! All you need to start is a phone and a pen. As you get more into it, you might take loot for swapping, spare logs, spare plastic bags, lock picks, screwdriver, secateurs...

I’ve got Bats’ travel bug on my watchlist and someone I know well has just picked it up to bring in this direction so I will try to get hold of it.

It’s actually my TB now! I adopted it in 2021 after it made its way near me and then rereleased with a new objective in Wales.Texaco Shirley wrote: ↑Sat Jul 08, 2023 8:13 am I’ve got Bats’ travel bug on my watchlist and someone I know well has just picked it up to bring in this direction so I will try to get hold of it.

Oh yes! I’d forgotten that. I’ll still look out for it
