Curtain pole decision - thrilling thread click now or miss out

Post by Leap »

*Pictures below*

I’ve finally found the curtains I want for our living room, but the eyelets on them are silver. The rest of the room accents are all gold, except for the light switch and door handle (chrome, to the right of the window). I know it should match the eyelets, but I keep thinking the way the curtains hang we’d always notice the pole much more than the eyelets.

Examples below of the room, the curtains, the eyelets and the poles I’m choosing from (I definitely won’t go full chrome even if it’s silver).

I've looked at my curtains and noticed for the first time that the eyelets don't match the pole. You totally don't see it. The pole is more noticeable, especially when the curtains are open.

Eta I love your room! And the curtains will look great.

Mine don't match either, and it's never bothered us.

I will say, that the coating is now coming off our poles, so if that would bother you it's something to keep in mind.

Thank you everyone! That’s what I wanted but I wasn’t sure if the mismatch would niggle me to death. That’s helpful too, Glint, about the wear and tear.

I have those poles upstairs Beatrix, and I know what you mean! It only really bothers me when I’m already mad, and then it accelerates me to apoplectic

Just to update this we finally have curtains, nearly 6 years after we moved in, and 3 years since we decorated this room  We are slow movers.

Thank you for your help, it was the push I needed and definitely the right choice to match the room and not the eyelets.

I voted match the curtain pole by mistake. You will never notice the eyelets once they are up.
