Sorry to hear that Dics. I found ibuprofen helped in the first few worse days. Get well soon x

Re: Testing times - Covid in 2022
Thanks everyone. I took cold and flu night time stuff last night so was able to sleep and I feel ok this morning albeit with a cough, feeling hot. I've got a huge jar of Ibuprofen, Chicky (thanks USA for selling drugs in large volumes) so will utilise those too. Monk is staying with a friend and I've been away, Epp, so he isn't at risk of being infected by me. This is my first bout of it.

You poor thing, Dics. Taking all the drugs made the first few days manageable, if not actual fun. I hope it passes soon for you.
Do you have everything you need?

Oh no Disco, the first few days were rough! Hope you recover quickly.
I'm Day 9 today, I haven't tested since Sunday when I had a faint positive. I feel generally OK although I still have a bit of a cough. I'll test later as I have the hairdresser's tomorrow.

Thank you!
Edith, I've been away so came back to any empty fridge but I've got bread and eggs and bits and bobs in the freezer, plus two friends have just offered to go shopping for me, thankfully. I don't actually feel hungry and haven't for a few days (now I think about it) but I've got milk and teabgs which is the most important thing to me.

I'm still testing negative, as is my sister and her family, but Dad's feeling worse and I'm worried about him. He has reduced lung function since a bout of pleurisy a few years ago, and he's apparently very breathless.
And I hope your Dad is ok too, Ken, and your Mum manages to avoid it.

Oh, Zoomer, what a worry. Has he asked for the antivirals?

How worrying, Zoomer. Is he back in Ireland now? I hope his doctors will give him any and all necessary meds to help him feel better.

No, he's still in London in my sister's place. He was meant to be going home yesterday, but now obviously will stay put until he's better.
He hasn't taken anything except paracetamol so far. How does one go about getting antivirals, please?

I think get your sister to call 111. I take it he's not a UK citizen? That may complicate things, but she should call ASAP anyway. She should really stress his pre-existing condition.

Agree with Ella and I hope his being not a citizen or resident doesn’t inhibit treatment.
I just reported my LFT result. It says if I am deemed eligible for treatments I will be contacted though obviously they have access to my medical records and wouldn’t have your dad’s.

No, he's Irish, but Ireland and the UK have a mutual agreement re healthcare still.
I'm going to call him now to see how he is. Thanks Ella. Eta: And Dics.

RIght, I have been massively interfering and phoned my Dad's GP, who's going to do a phone consultation with him this afternoon to see if he needs to be prescribed something. Apparently he can get that prescription filled in the UK if so.

Oh good, I hope that brings you peace of mind, and he gets the right treatment asap if necessary.
