Good luck!

I’ve always made quick decisions on house purchases & just gone for it if it was good enough. I’ve never had “the feeling” about one & think that’s a bit of a myth.

Thanks everyone! Not great news to report because the agents did more viewings yesterday and apparently a couple that saw it have said they’ll offer asking price. They haven’t done so yet but the owners are waiting for them to make an offer before deciding. If they do I should get a chance to offer best and final and will have to wait and see. I’m a bit annoyed with myself for not just accepting their counter offer yesterday now, as they might have agreed to take it off the market/cancel viewings. Live and learn I suppose :ella:

I don’t know how I’d feel about this going to a bidding war. Asking price is ok - though like I said before it is priced at the very top of what I think is value for the area per square foot and condition. Which is why I offered under. I expect a couple with dual income will probably be more comfortable offering over asking if they’re serious. Bumholes.

I let myself feel excited/hopeful yesterday and now that is all draining away and I don’t think I’ll get it.

Just wait and see, Epp. The couple might be in a chain, which would be off-putting for a lot of sellers.

I am trying not to get ahead of myself, Sal! But I did find out that the couple are (unfortunately) in the same situation as me: chain free, have an AIP, and a good deposit. So I expect it’ll come down to who offers the most.

Fingers crossed, Epp. The London market always seems so competitive, I remember when my brother was buying that flats would go on rightmove and would have already sold over asking without a viewing before he could even get through to the agent. (That was a few years ago though).

I always feel like you have to work with a bit of a “if it’s meant to be, it’s meant to be” mentality with house purchases, to try and maintain some sanity.

I’ve always been the other end of the spectrum where I just always find my dream house, view only that one because nothing else will do, and then I spend weeks/months panicking it’s not going to work out. Which is why I am never moving again

Thanks lads. I will still hope for positive news of course. And in the meantime get back on Rightmove 🫠 I am a bit stuffed for doing more viewings for a couple of weeks while I am away for work. This would have been perfect timing! 😬

The London market is mental for anything that is near a tube/doesn’t need massive renovation or redecoration. If you don’t need either of those things then you often have a lot more choice. And flats with outside space are the most sought after as most normal people can’t afford the entry level ~800K for a house within zone 4 :ella:
