Thursday Thoughts

Post by sally maclennane »

Where is everyone? :fish:

I'm back at work today, after a terrible sleep but I still feel better than I was. I'm WFH today and tomorrow morning, then I have a half day so at least it's an easier few days.

Its grey here but dry by the looks of it so I've put on a washing.

What's happening with you today?

Good morning! Im at Liverpool exhibition centre if you must know.

My teeny windowless room was not the best hotel I’ve ever stayed but fit for purpose and good value! I got to try Mowgli for the first time, complete with swing seat experience, and then had a wander before returning to my hotel for some aimless scrolling and sleep.

I’ve been for a run this morning along the docks and saw cruise ships and superlambananas and now have a day all about public sector procurement, before heading back to the SW.

I hope you get better sleep tonight!

Morning!

Just another day of work for me. I am trying to listen to a talk but the person is speaking so fast that I am struggling to keep up.

Today's plans include planning (and paying) for work that's needs to be done on the house. We need the whole house to be repainted, some walls to be re-plastered and a lot of clutter to sort out. I'm hoping it can all be done in 12 weeks.

I'm glad you're feeling well enough to work Sal, but sorry you are actually working !

We have the same weather, OH had already put a load on the line this morning , and there's another about to go out.

I have no plans or jobs to do today ! I''ve finished youngest's room, finished jetwashing the drive (I'm not overly impressed with it, and may need to hire a more powerful cleaner) , and made a good start on the weeding . I might actually browse linked in and job sites :)

Glad to hear you're feeling better, Sal.

I've checked the weather and this dull haze is meant to burn off so I have the washing machine on and I'll be getting ready to take Innes to the Vet Hospital for hopefully his discharge appoint.

I'm sorry you slept badly, sal, and for Annabelle's hacking cough.

It's quite warm and pleasant here. I'm off to work now, followed by a drum lesson for which I have done absolutely zero prep. My critical teacher will be delighted. :ella:

Good morning!

I found out late on Monday that I’m meant to be doing my university induction today, but I only just got a university email address this morning, and I think I can do it all asynchronously, so phew! Because getting to Salford with no notice and Squeak doing exams wasn’t going to work.

I went to offer her snacks yesterday and she admitted that she does like the boy she’s been talking to every night. Well, durr!

I hope that wasn’t too much of a panic Pip. It doesn’t sound like they’re very well organised!

My leaning is done so I’m having lunch before heading home. I was going to try another chain I haven’t before (Rosa’s Thai) but they were a bit rubbish so I left and went next door for pizza and wine.

Both pizza and wine are massive. The former is hanging off the plate 😂

I think I’d generally go for Thai over pizza but I made the right choice today.

I'm absolutely starving and that looks so good wendy. What's the topping? Broccoli and olives?

Are you dining alone WeJa ? I can't work out if solo diners will be easier or more problematic for restaurants. Your pizza does look good though. I have shared a Tesco meal deal with my Mum, I got the smoothie, but we shared a sandwich and Doritos. We might have a vanilla slice each to go with the coffee I will make soon too. OH in the meantime has had toast with home made lemon curd.

Pip - what is it you are doing, I seem to have a recollection of you saying you got a Phd place ?

It was a real panic for a little while and the reason I reacted badly to C demanding I sort out his speeding fine.

Yes, I’m starting a professional doctorate part time so it’s not as big as a PhD, but I think I still get the title at the end (been too scared to ask!). It’s still massive but it’s a piece of work I’ve been turning over in my mind for a few years now so I thought I may as well get something out of it for myself if I’m going to do it.

That pizza looks so good! I’m trying to lay off the carbs a little bit because I’ve been overdoing it, but it’s tempting me.

I’ve eaten out alone when travelling for years and have never considered myself problematic. It was never an issue in any restaurant I’ve worked in. In, eat, out generally! So 1 cover rather than 2 but turned around very quickly.

My pizza craving is off the chart right now! I nipped out to get lunch and a treat for the jeweller who's staying late to make orders as she's on holiday next week and noticed that the local Waitrose stocks my absolute favourite sherry. So maybe I'll make something spanish tonight so I can have a nip!

I bought the jeweller a lemon meringue eclair and she said it was amazing. I didn't get one for myself. Regretting it

A lemon meringue eclair sounds amazing! :ready:
