Oh, the poor little thing. How awful to be out in the world so young without your mum .

This. It makes me so sad. Whether it's because of culling or road deaths it's horrible.
I miss seeing badgers in our garden. Since our neighbours behind us flattened their garden and fenced the shit out of it, we don't see them or deer anymore.

I know! I was so upset to see her distress. She was exhausted. She completely calmed down trying to back away from us after the first few capfuls of water and instantly perked up and her gain i strength was tangible but not enough energy to lift her body up.
This is the second live badger I’ve seen but the first was massive and legged it very fast (years ago).

Re: Animals strike curious poses
Daisy had a very tiring day yesterday. We only realised she’d fallen asleep in this awkward position when she started snoring

Daisy is just lovely and animal snoring is just the cutest.
I do love how cats like to play with anything but the toys you buy them. He really does look marvellous.

That’s such a lovely photo Cerise, especially how the only colours are his eyes and the toy.

I love Jack Eyebrows.
And how lovely and glossy your boy is, Cerise.
Tiggy stopped eating for some reason, last week, and we had to take him to the vet. He's another of the turtle cats who has a hazard warning on his vet record, as he has been known to turn himself into a thrashing windmill of claws and teeth, rather than subject himself to any sort of physical examination. Anyway, he was feeling so sorry for himself that he let the vet give him a cuddle while she weighed him. Because of his age (15), she recommended doing full bloods - hence the bald patch. :(
Anyway, his bloods came back perfect - other than slightly anaemic (probably due to not eating) - but the vet read me [what I thought were] the notes that she had taken that morning. All the details were pretty much as I recalled. But, surprisingly, she said that what she was reading were notes from the same time of year, two years ago! She could hear some congestion in his chest, so thinks he's basically got hayfever from something that flowers around this time of year. The problem was simply that poor Tiggy couldn't smell his food. A short course of prednisolone and he's right as rain. :))

Aw, poor lad! He looks very sorry for himself but I'm glad to hear it was a relatively trivial matter.

Re: Animals strike curious poses
Had you just stroked his head or does he just have a natural sort of ski-slope thing running from his centre forehead to his nose?

That's a very easy Spot the Ball (treat) Bats.

Poor hayfevery Tiggy. Glad the steroids have done the trick!

That's good news about Tiggy.
Tom has decided to join me this morning and I'm sure it's purely a coincidence that there is a warm sunny patch near my desk

It’s kind of natural but not usually that pronounced, I think!Rebel Pebble wrote: ↑Mon May 23, 2022 6:59 pmHad you just stroked his head or does he just have a natural sort of ski-slope thing running from his centre forehead to his nose?![]()

This is Philip, my temporary housemate. It’s taken about four weeks for him not to be terrified of me.
