Re: Time For A Change
Thank you! I will be gutted if it is just a phone call now.
*basically taking the overall brand marketing strategy and developing it for different retail markets.
I’m very excited about D.C. too! Under normal circumstances there is a lot of international travel associated with the company but I can’t see that being the case for a while yet.
I’m heading up Shopper Marketing* for a tiny food brand. It’s a fairly well known brand outside of the US but has only been launched here relatively recently so has a nice small start up feel.

It won’t because I’ve already got a separate right to work visa.

Ooh, some exciting news on this thread! Cheese and launching food brands in the IS both sound great - congrats nine and Olive! :))
(Olive will you also get lots of nice samples from your employer, like nine?)

Re: Time For A Change
My new boss just called to make the formal offer and suggested a start date of 5th Oct which I’m going to ask to be pushed back a week as the boys are on fall break that week.
My holiday allowance is also 20 days which is very generous considering the US but I’m wondering if it’s worth taking the piss and asking for another week. I figure they can only say no.

Well done olive! I'd ask, like you say they can only say no.
Do not walk behind me, for I may not lead. Do not walk ahead of me, for I may not follow. Do not walk beside me either, just fuck off and leave me alone.

Re: Time For A Change
I’ve got the extra week and they’ve agreed to push my proposed start date by a week too.
I fly to Washington DC on Monday 12th for a week to start my induction. :bob: I really hope they don’t want to socialise in the evenings (they will  ) and that the new Atlanta guy isn’t on my flights. :sociable:

That’s brilliant on the extra week. You’ll need it.
But argh, I recall seeing the list of states that need to quarantine on arrival in DC. Georgia was on the list yesterday. Double check though.

Re: Time For A Change
Thanks. :))
But on the other hand I’m really excited to get stuck in. They’ve got loads of things that I want to get my hands on and change/ fix already.
I also still have an interview with job 2 tomorrow that I don’t know if I should sack off.
I don’t know if I can be arsed.
I should probably distract myself with a new work wardrobe and some stationery. I also get to choose and buy my own laptop so should start some research. (I buy, they pay).
Thanks for that Emma. A friend of mine mentioned it to me as well!
Equal measures excited and terrified. Expectations are so high (on their part). Everyone that interviewed me has messaged/ emailed in the past 24 hours to say how excited they are but I’m worried I’ve forgotten everything in the past 3 years.

Re: Time For A Change
14 days self quarantine so might be tricky for an induction. But the list is updated every 2 weeks: https://coronavirus.dc.gov/release/dc-h ... er-21-2020
