Exactly, plus as you know, I’m in a bit of a precarious constituency so I need to try and vote tactically.

So you are. I'm in a pretty safe SNP seat so it probably won't matter what way I vote.

I didn't think Yousaf was particularly graceful in resignation. :look: Interesting times. I need to read one of those articles that explains what can happen next. :))

The polling for the West Midlands and Teeside mayoral elections is consuming my time now, though. The FT is going all out on Houchen's corruption, but I don't think it's cutting through very much because it's so stupidly complex.

Unfortunately Houchen has a lot of local support and I can see him getting another term. At the moment they're going down the route of saying it doesn't matter he's a Tory as he's a successful Mayor. The smear campaign against the labour candidate is massive.

Locally, a lot of it is focusing on Teesside Airport. The labour candidate was on the board of the housing developers who wanted to buy the land and make it houses. It's currently costing the tax payers a fortune to keep it running and major companies are pulling out. Houchen's long term plan was to sell the land in 10 years time anyway but apparently that doesn't matter.

I also have Andy Burnham to vote for, plus local councillor which is invariably a win for lib dem. That's ok. I'm far more worried about the general election, although our MP is recently very publically disgraced and no longer has the whip so it's not going to be him!

I edited a 20 page document in January to say Teesside not Teeside, you'd think I'd have learned. :)) YouGov has Houchen in the lead by seven points. :lg:

Andy is on 65%, with the remaining 35% split between the children (LibDem and Green) and the fascists (from the centre moving rightwards, Tory, Reform, the batshit insane independent). :))

Can you tell it's been AGES since there's been a good election? :)) Fun times. Measuring swing. Bitter local contests. :frolic:

I have had to close Twitter down, my feed is utterly overrun with dickheads supporting Suzie Hall.

I know algorithms etc but this is insane, CCHQ must be paying Musk a fortune.

I'm already planning snacks and drinks for a general election overnight watch party.

Ok have been and voted. It was very quiet. I spoiled my police commissioner paper in the end.

I voted for mayor, and also spoiled my PCC ballot.

I've just voted for London Mayor and my chosen London Assembly member. The polling station was quite busy.

Laurence Fox is a candidate for London Assembly. He tried for Mayor in 2021 and lost his deposit. Hopefully he'll be humiliated again.

I've voted, we were the only ones in there but we stayed in the playground for a bit afterwards, and there was a small but steady stream of people.

TIL how to spell Teesside correctly.

I do hope so, but not before he's paid the £180k he owes in libel damages.

I couldn’t believe it when I saw Laurence Fox on the ballot! I hate him so much.

It was very busy at my polling station, I queued for about 15 minutes.

Obviously I no longer have a say, but surely London won't vote in that psychotic racist, Hall.
