I really want a non working day
Can you compress your hours? I really couldn't function at work without my 3 day weekend.
I don't fancy compressed hours at all, and they're not massively keen on it at my place. I could have a 4 day week, but I'd have to take a pay cut and really my priority is to retire as early as I can, so it's probably better to focus on overpaying my mortgage and getting that paid off. I also want to get as good a pension as I can so reducing my hours doesn't work for that.
I'm not ignoring Bats' question, I'm just assuming that the above answers her too

I feel so out of the loop, so will use today's travel time wisely and catch up on all the threads. Its been a very busy week with very long days of workshops, networking, listening to some excellent conference content (geek mode activated). I don't think I've been to bed before midnight all week. As much as I have loved it all, I definitely do feel all peopled out and will be glad to get home.
Have a fabulous Friday!
This is me, except in Kigali I am so absolutely drained but just in my last symposium of the day and week. Thank god. I’m sure I picked up a minor infection/fever a few days ago as well, so that’s been fun! The few stragglers still here today are threatening one last dinner/cocktails and I just don’t know if I can face it! I just want a burger in my room and a nice film.

I'm doing that today but my errand was buying peonies and focaccia after I walked Liv to school. I'm mid-clean of the kitchen as I'm having a friend over for a birthday lunch. I need to make a raspberry ricotta cake and some soup too but I think I'm on schedule. I'm sure she won't mind if I'm still stirring soup when she arrives
I won’t mind that at all!
Happy birthday Cerise! My friend liked the lunch and her peonies.
Definitely get room service and watch a film, Epp!
It’s 10 degrees here but feels colder and it’s spitting with rain but my neighbours are having their dinner in the back garden with hats scarves and big coats on . They’ve got friends with them so I’m assuming it was planned weeks ago hoping they’d have lovely spring weather to sit out in!
C and I have been to the gym together & then to the supermarket to buy massive prawns for pasta.
I’ve been managing my sister’s social media again today & had a nice chat with my nephew. My mum beat me to taking S for lunch though do I was a bit thwarted this afternoon.
The actual in person school didn’t work out because they bullies knew people there too and it just all got too much for him. He’s in an online school, which seems to be working ok. He’s still socialising with his old friends and doing his rowing, and seems to be getting on ok with his learning. The current plan is for him to do online GCSEs and then go to college in person.
Your poor nephew, Pip. I’m glad he sounds like he’s doing well, he’s been through too much. If only it wasn’t necessary and (some) kids weren’t just shits.
My turtle prayers have been answered. I have recused myself from the (now larger) group dinner and the cocktail thing was cancelled so I’m in my room with an obscene room service order on its way
My sister was incredible and did actually phone the dad of the main instigator. He was mortified and his son did apologise but it was too late by that point.

I know a whole host of fantastic online tutors if any other help is ever needed.

Ooh, actually, I’d be interested to hear your thoughts on Purple Ruler as a scheme. Squeak’s been doing that at school.
