I think that's exactly the hope, and I do know of people who usually vote Republican but won't support him any longer and will vote Democrat this time. I mean, that's three people, I'm not a nationwide survey. But it's quite a likely outcome, it's just that the the likely outcomes have all gone so very badly wrong the past few years.

I've seen a few "Republican for Biden" yard signs online.

Also this time the Bernie Bro Misogyny Clan will be silent, at least. I do hope they feel it was all worthwhile, the last four years. :woteva:

I don’t think anything has changed with the tiny sample of people know.

If anything they’re doubling down on voting Republican to save the economy regardless of the past 3 years and everything else he has run into the ground.

Even though I'm quite a pessimist (and god, hasn't life reinforced that recently!) I do think Biden will win. Trump's base is rock solid of course, but they don't need to be turned to win. I obviously would no longer be surprised if Trump does win though.

I hope so, but it looks like Biden will have to win 53% in order to win the electoral vote.

That Channel 4 piece the other night (about the Trump campaign targeting some Black people to deter them from voting at all) was excellent.

That's certainly what Trump is implying he's going to do. How possible that is, I have no idea.

That’s what I meant by retain power. It’s all so fucked, and this place is just as bad now.

I think it's more likely there will be voter intimidation to keep liberals from casting their vote.

Trump will win. But even if he doesn't, it doesn't matter. The rot has fully set in and the base completely mobilised.

In an ideal world he will lose, refuse to step down and be marched out at gun point.

But in reality I agree with Luce, the system just seems so broken.

There is surely zero chance of a peaceful transfer of power. Five years ago that would have been unthinkable.

I think there will be a lot more riots whatever the result.
