I don't disagree, I was just saying why they may feel it's very different.

Re: The Queen
That one is apparently legit. Its so that people can use the path it is on to queue in order to sign a book of condolence, I think.

Re: The Queen
This story is a “damned no matter what they do” one I think. The Guardian is, naturally, looking for an angle to be sniffy at the establishment - it’s it’s raison d’etre. It’s also not rocket science that the Queen’s office plus the Prince of Wales’ office means you have too many staff when the Queen dies and the Prince of Wales is promoted. The office would have definitely had press questions about what was going to happen and needs a line. And employment law requires you inform employees at risk of redundancy that they are at risk as soon as possible.overthehill wrote: ↑Wed Sep 14, 2022 12:28 am I'm pretty appalled by the timing of this: https://www.theguardian.com/uk-news/202 ... -for-queen.
So - possible Guardian angles here: Prince Charles plans on DOUBLING office size as King? Spendthrift Prince Charles pays his staff to twiddle their thumbs following takeover of Buck Palace staff? Prince Charles stays Mum about workers’ fates following Mother’s death? Prince Charles heartlessly tells staff they’ll be made redundant? Pick your poison….

Ohh, have you got any good links to threads, Pip? I need a bit of a cheerful take on something this week!

I love that! I may visit The Queue and give them a wave (but not join it).

The end is currently near Blackfriars Bridge, apparently. I love how stereotypically British it all is (although nobody queues properly for the bus any more).

Re: The Queen
Someone waved me onto the bus on Tuesday even though I was the back of the queue & they were the front. It was ALL WRONG.

Re: The Queen
My mum and sister are in the separate queue for disabled people. They’ve been given an entry slot of 11-12 so should be going on soon. My sister said it’s really well organised.
