But not in the Hancock/Gove sense unless you want to. :look:

Sarah Vine’s article was v amusing. I hope she’s very upset but doubt she has real emotions.

Johnson got a bit of a kicking at PMQs today, it does look like his culture war stuff is backfiring on him somewhat. Ian Blackford (SNP leader) called him out on his own racist language, predictably he waffled on about it being "out of context" :ella: Im not quite sure what context would be acceptable for language like "letterboxes" and "picaninnies " but it's nice to see him squirm

And we've got the England football team to thank for it. :hbeat:

Ha. And so he should.

I do think Johnson's government's support is a mile wide and an inch deep (in a lot of places, anyway).

I was thinking about the whole penalties thing and how the knowledge of the abuse they (especially Marcus Rashford) would receive if they failed surely must have been running through their minds and contributed to the nerves they felt when walking up to take the penalties. So racism might have cost England the Euros. There's a certain natural justice to that.

I can't express how happy Tyrone Mings' tweet to Priti Patel made me. :love2:

When you compare the integrity and intelligence of this England team to that of the Rooney/Terry years it's really uplifting and gives you hope (for society, I mean, not necessarily for winning cups, although maybe that as well)

They ARE lovely and they're led by a lovely man an' all. They really do give me hope.

Also, No 10 is saying that they've decided not to host a reception for them; apparently, in actual fact, the players said they wouldn't go. :))

Given how keen Johnson and his cronies were to clap the NHS without giving nurses a decent payrise, they have no business going on about gesture politics.

Bang on, Morgs, but they're all born with a shameless gene. And a twattish gene. Double whammy.

Excellent prioritising.

I would not be surprised if impending/new fatherhood gives him a degree of protection - no one wants to rip into someone with a new baby. I bet that’s why he’s done it :cynical: The baby is the human equivalent of a walk-in fridge

Edith! Don't be so cynical. Maybe 6 or 7 kids just wasn't enough. Why not strive for a 7th or 8th, to complete the family

Its so grubby isn't it. Imagine how appalled you'd be if a friend got together with a bloke with a vague number of kids from multiple relationships (I won't make the point about a woman in politics doing this because its been made before many times)

He’s doing exactly what so many of his ilk look down on others for doing.

Grubby is a good description.

Those poor children though.
