John Snow says Obama was scheduled to give a talk in Denmark the same day and Trump pulled out because Obama would draw the bigger crowd :puzz:

He’s not even the first president to have this idea.

He’s just suggested, in front of a crowd of veterans, awarding himself the medal of honour. Today has been...unusual.

There's a Guardian article noting Russia's interest in Greenland's resources may also play a part.

The other day he and some Fox type mouthpieces were 'joking' about him staying for a third term. Or hey, indefinitely.

Greenland has a lot of rare earth resources which are essential for electronics. The world’s other big supplier is China.

We are, officially, through the Looking-Glass.

So he's about to be impeached? Have we been here before?

Nope, not this far. Always talk of Dems not having the nerve (and for good reason).

It will be a long process and I've no idea how successful this will be. Maybe he'd resign before like Nixon? I doubt that, to be honest.

This is looking promising. They've been nervous about it before as the evidence was never watertight and it could risk stoking his base (but both US and UK have to stop refusing to act based on fear of rightwing nutters) so hopefully they're feeling confident this one's clear enough.

His base are chanting "but maybe there was dirt on Biden", entirely missing the point.

The request for the full complaint was unanimous, so Senate Republicans agreed to it too. Rats fleeing the sinking ship?

I reckon they'd be quite desperate for that. This is like what I said on the other thread that, so far, it seems the UK constitution has been standing up better to despots than the US.

It's trickling out there is way more than just the Ukraine threats. He may have agreed to give Putin the valued Russian spy they extricated and were sheltering in the US. (this is social media buzz, unconfirmed)

When I saw this letter from Trump to Erdogan I thought it must be a parody. But it's fucking real. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-middle-east-50080737

I'm not even shocked anymore. I want to be, because I should be. But I can't get to it anymore.
The US (and the UK) manage to fuck middle eastern politics normally, god only knows what the fall out of this latest obscenity will be in 5, 10, 20 yrs.
