Brilliant! I’ve noticed a lot of subtle political commentary in Susie Dent’s word of the day.
It’s like a normal midlife crisis only with more chandeliers and foreign languages.

I'm down right shocked he's left as compliantly as he has. But :perky: it's actually over. Without over simplifying things- Change can happen. It's not inevitable that shit things keep being shit. We need to hold onto this sentiment in this country a bit more too.

I always said I'd put a fiver on him taking hostages, which I didn't do. I don't know whether to regret that or not. :))

Well, bar the odd attempt at provoking an armed assault on Congress! :)) But I agree that, while not the whole story, it's a hugely symbolic. He's got two years before the Senate inevitably turns Republican again.

While Trump was giving his incoherent speech, Biden was at church and I'm hoping that it was significant in terms of a successful impeachment that Mitch McConnel (along with Nancy Pelosi and Chuck Schumer) attended with him.

Exactly. Let's not talk ourselves into assuming the Tories will win. People did that about Trump, and he didn't.

Well, there is that, Montana :)) I sort of assumed he'd have a toddler-esque breakdown and need to be removed in a tantrum, or, like, set fire to something like an furious tweenager.

Don't rule out the havoc he might have wreaked on the presidential quarters! Apparently the one nod to convention that he made was writing Biden a letter. I wonder if we'll ever get to know what was in it?

I would pay actual money to see that letter.

I'm also a bit disappointed that he didn't have to be physically removed.

Kamala's coat is beautiful.

I like how CNN are not letting Pence off the hook for doing the bare minimum.

I just checked to see if we posted at exactly the same time, which we did, and also noticed that we both joined TMT at 9.29.

The police officer escorting her was the one who led the rioters away from everyone.

The amount of people there are making me feel quite queasy.

I agree her coat is beautiful.

I’d hope they had prior negative testing to ensure they were OK to attend.
