Exactly! Though the chants at the Capitol to hang Pence might have given them a clue. With 42% of Republicans STILL supporting Trump, this madness won't end soon.

I think that perhaps the tide is turning and the insurrectionists are finding that actions have consequences.

An elected official in New Mexico, one Couy Griffin, was amongst those taking part in the invasion of the Capitol building in DC and has now been arrested: https://www.justice.gov/opa/page/file/1355981/download

He’s now received this letter from the AG of NM which pulls no punches:
It’s like a normal midlife crisis only with more chandeliers and foreign languages.

I honestly can't wait until that orange toddler has gone and there's a grown up in charge again. I'm just desperately hoping it all goes peacefully.

I think he's tired himself out with tantrumming now so I am not expecting any more trouble from him personally but his followers are a different thing.

Wouldn't it be nice if it all just happened smoothly with no fuss. What do you think the chances are?

I read that 20,000 national guards have been stationed in DC. That's CRAZY. The city only has a population of just over 500,000!

They're also vetting every single one of them as there was evidence that some police officers and other officials were involved on 6th Jan.

Watching CNN last night, they're apparently expecting around 100 presidential pardons from his last day in office. If he pardons any of those involved in the insurrection, that might just be the last straw for many republican senators. :hopeful:

Whose side are they on, do we know?

The FBI are background checking the lot of them! Not being able trust your military or police is terrifying.

Exactly. 25,000 National Guard have been deployed. There is also chatter about rioters posing as the National Guard. I really wish Biden would just do this from his basement and donate the money we would spend on the inauguration to the homeless in DC.
