Nobody's celebrating anything. I said "At least he can't hurt anyone any more". That's the only good which has come from this and while it's small, it's down to the bravery of those who spoke out. Their courage has not been in vain. FFS, I am so disheartened and saddened by the whole thing, and many other things, that I am desperately trying to see any small glimmer of positivity. And failing, pretty much.

Jordy Chandler wasn't believed though; I think that everyone recognises Weinstein is guilty even those who are defending him. Surely.

Well he's guilty, that's got to be good news.

Hundreds upon hundreds of accusations, lives fucked up and they made 2 of 5 charges stick. Grand.

Yeah. Jessica Valenti, on Twitter: "That cheering you hear is the sound of female journalists finally being able to drop the "alleged" before "rapist Harvey Weinstein" in their columns."

He’s not going to need that walking frame or those ridiculously massive ‘aides’ any more, the manipulative bastard.

His statement from his (female) lawyer that “he took (the result) like a man” really isn’t helpful in the dialogue around masculinity and power is it?

I assume she meant whining and denying it all?

Quite, Edith.

23 years.

That should see the end of him, I would have thought.

He'll appeal it but hopefully they will tell him to feck off.

He was “cuffed to his wheelchair and rolled away”. Beautiful.

23! Excellent. I heard his defence team asked for clemency considering among other things his film career. Like you should get a lighter sentence for making movies.

Jesus christ! I don't think you should get clemency for anything, but for making fucking films? (and doing very well out of it in the process). He wasn't curing cancer or feeding orphans.

And for ending so many women’s film careers.

I read that he'd "suffered a fall" in prison, and there was some kind of statement about how he'd really learnt his lesson during the ?week? he'd spent in custody. They stopped short of actually saying that surely all this PC nonsense had gone far enough and he should be left to get back to his routine of riches and abuse now.

As Jess Philips said, probs best you don't rape people, if you'd prefer to avoid jail. If only Weinstein had worked that out before being handcuffed to his own fucking wheelchair. I hope he rots.
