Praying the Sun is right! I don’t think he’s done yet, sadly.

Can we hope for a very localised apocalypse or some focussed smiting by God? Just wipe out Parliament and start again.

Maybe we could petition Her Maj to dissolve Parliament on the grounds it’s not fit for purpose.
It’s like a normal midlife crisis only with more chandeliers and foreign languages.

:mog: Maybe he's worked out it's a pain in the arse having a bunch of immoveable backbenchers chipping at your head all the time. And having to work with Tom "what's he up to now" Watson. I mean like, who knew??

Don't let all of this distract you from the fact that Bercow is a bit of a cunt. :))

Barnier doesn't sound particularly agreeable to May's half arsed suggestion of a long extension and maybe also a short one.

Bercow turning quasi-hero is just the latest in a long line of head fucks. :))

Honestly, I'd take a bit of a cunt as long as they wanted to remain in the fucking EU.

We do only have a choice of Total Cunts or Bit of a Cunts, to be fair.

Much as there are occasional examples of sanity in this whole omnishambles*, I am judging every single one of them HARD for being party to it.

*Luciana Berger for leaving Labour and saying why, Yvette Cooper for using parliamentary process exceptionally well to frustrate May, Anna Soubrey for voice of occasional sanity etc

The Guardian has a really lovely new flowchart.

You don't have to look at it if you don't want, Ella77. :))

I have some questions but I will see if the flowchart addresses them first.

I'm too fuddled to even really know what my questions are.

Right. So. We know the EU won't renegotiate the WA, but there may be opportunity to rejig the Political Declaration part. What does this consist of, and what kind of changes would that mean, and are these changes that might get people on board, or count as substantial enough for the motion to be heard again?

Probably felt like they needed a few drinks to get them through. ;)

Yep. I’d support pretty much any arsehole if it meant we could stay.

I notice revoking article 50 is not considered as an option on the new flowchart.

Me too. I’m irrationally cross with the Independent Group because they keep sending me non-Brexit related emails. I don’t care (much) about their social policies, we’re fucked if we leave the EU for pretty much everything. So how about they just concentrate on that at the moment?

My current fantasy is asking the queen to prorogue parliament and then her saying no

The political declaration sets out possible future terms in a woolly way. It is not legally binding. So, they could, like, say 'we will be nice friends' in a way that pleases the ERG more. And that would probably be enough difference to get MV3. But then you're back to whether it will get through the House. Which is an unknown.

The top of the Guardian live feed has a good summary of what Barnier just said, which is a good indication of EU position. Plus, I think they've proofed the typos out this time, bless them.
