I swear that Ian Dunt is actually the only person keeping me sane through this.

He's not wrong.
I await the maybe-almost-deal. Either it won't materialise, it'll be pointless, or it'll be illegal/unworkable in some way. :toot:

This whole shit show ought to be illegal and I don’t know why it isn’t.

That needs to be renamed Brexit.

So if I'm reading this right, IDS is saying they'll maybe consider it if it agrees to all the Malthouse techno dream arrangements which they've already said are nonsense?
I might have to go for a long walk tomorrow to avoid going mad.

Also, my previous 'David Lammy in a cape with his pants over some tights' has morphed now and I am starting to think that Tom Watson might one day soon walk into parliament, take off his glasses and karate kick us back into the EU.

Looking at the Guardian flowchart, we are utterly fucked whatever happens. Still, TM had an interesting hat on her way to Strasbourg.
It’s like a normal midlife crisis only with more chandeliers and foreign languages.

What was Tom Watson up to in his "not a party within a party" meeting today? And what the unholy fuck does a unilateral statement on the backstop mean?!
I was in the kitchen just now sharpening my big knife and fantasising about going on a murderous rampage when Mr Goat came in and said he was going to phone his Brexiter parents and should he say hello from me.

I'm wondering if I can leave the internet for a bit (leaving the planet not being an option) and bury my head in the sand, or if I'll just end up being drip fed through other people anyway. Watching it happen feels like watching a leg be sawn off, it would be easier to look away.

Kier Starmer reckons that no changes have been agreed and that it’s the same deal as was on the table in January.

I can't see how there can be a workable compromise on the backstop, really, unless the technology they wish worked actually did. But my brain is gone and I am skim reading at this point. It doesn't seem to be being greeted with great enthusiasm.

One thing I can see, after years of working with EU funding instruments, is exactly how much of a massive legal mire we're getting into. And interpretative statement of an interpretative statement looms. Nowt's changed. You just cannot solve that issue without removing the need for a border. So, united Ireland OR UK in the customs union and single market.

I wonder if it'll pass now, the ERG felt backed into a corner and needed some sort of fanfare so they could now declare what is essentially the same deal now passes their scrutiny, and avoid Brexiteers being the ones who destroy Brexit*. I can't deny there's a part of me that feels so weary and scared and beaten down that I hope it does pass. I'm terrified of a No Deal exit and don't know how much more pointless 'debating' and can kicking I can take.

The whole thing just depresses the life out of me. I have got to the stage where I don't know what to wish for. Like you Smal, I am really worried about a No Deal exit. If I thought there was any hope of the whole shitshow being cancelled, I would throw myself behind that but it basically seems to be one shit situation vs another shit situation.
I couldn't bring myself to watch it but Channel 4 did a programme last night about Brexit millionaires, featuring JRM and the amount of money he has made WHY has nobody taken this on? WHY is it allowed to happen?

Yeah, I think since JC sabotaged the idea of a Peoples Vote I don't have the energy anymore. There was energy behind that, I feel like it could've got somewhere. But now every avenue ends in something shit, so I'd rather it was not a No Deal sort of shit.
