But Long-Bailey is in there. There's no need!

It's convention and a sop to the left wing, I'd have thought. And it's only education. :))

Ruby won't read this, right? :))

Maybe. I wish he'd keep an eye on her without giving her a portfolio. Education is actually an important one. Why couldn't she have been Shadow Brexit Minister or whatever?! :))

That’s also what I thought. It’s the cleanest sweep he could have done.

Plus not *that* many from Ye Olden Days. He's putting a big Keir Wuz Ere stamp on it. Though I would've liked to see Stella Creasey or Yvette Cooper in there.

It's inevitable, it's true. Good, then they can add Stella in. And then we can wiiiiiiiiin in 2024. Or before, perhaps, given the success of fixed-term parliaments up 'til now. #optimist

Marsha de Cordova for women and equality. I don't know anything about her (except we are the same age and share a home town) but in googling I have discovered Kier is pro self ID.

None of the candidates came out in favour of women’s rights.

Hhahaha has he? Brilliant.

I am pleased about David Lammy. He spoke so well at my union AGM in March (when we are all in one room, sat together, unioning)

I feel it is a good shadow cabinet.

I'm pleased about Thangam as well.

And Labour turned down Karen Ingala's Smith's application to rejoin the LP.

None of them had to guts to come out as anti-self-ID but I am quietly hopefully that Keir's policy will be much more equivocal. He's got the common sense to know he needs everyone on side to win an election, if nothing else. And that everyone very much needs to include the Trade Union/lefty/feminist women who are, in so many places, the absolute backbone of Labour organising and campaigning. The decision on Karen Ingala-Smith should definitely be reconsidered now there's new leadership, obviously.

I think Lisa Nandy's vote suffered with the self-id thing. I don't really think people are aware of how many women feel frustrated by it because no-one is actually asking.

The Corbynistas have lost most of their influence on the NEC. It will be interesting to see what happens to Jennie Formby now.

Yeh my TERFY side says this is a bad move. Yes she's Shadow Education but I can see M.ermaids and S.tonewall becoming best mates with her.

Very glad Dawn BB didn't get anything, she is a rotten apple.
I don't get how the biology deniers do not realise how properly deranged they sound and how much it affects their credibility. Its like saying you're a flat earther.
Jesus loves you. Everyone else thinks you're an asshole.

Jess Phillips as shadow Home Secretary. I would love to see her tearing a strip off Priti Patel, if she ever comes out of hiding.
