I think the saddest thing is that nothing surprised me. The lack of care. The lazy attitude. Years of austerity and Brexit weakening the country's ability to respond to a pandemic. The British public knew they were voting for a careless buffoon and they did it anyway.

That article is utterly depressing and yet as Vig says, not remotely surprising. I hope the people who voted for that arse are pleased with their work.

It’s made me furious. I’m also furious with knobheads like Peston being all “hard hitting” on Twitter because asking inane questions in the press conferences, when it matters. This is all a shit show.

Parliament is sitting again today. If you're as geekily interested in this as I am, the first chunk of the Politico London Playbook has a fairly facetious rundown of how it's going to work here.

I enjoyed that, Bats. I might read that page more often.

Incidentally, I am very disappointed in Novak Djokovic.

Yes, I read that about ND and thought the same, Bean. I hope there is some legal obligation on people to have it, when it's available, if they want to fly around the world or have their kids in schools etc.

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-52373888 This is really depressing. 115million additional 'hungry' people. 115 MILLION.

I like the London Playbook. It kept me sane during Brexit too. :))

I am also deeply disappointed in Djokovic. The massive knobber.

Keir Starmer today at PMQs is giving me the first twinges of hope that there might be a grown up in the room.

God, me too. I saw it on the lunch time news and he was great, Raab looked like a rabbit caught in the headlights (even more than usual)

He really showed Raab up for the out of his depth but arrogant school boy he is, didn't he? He just cut through the childish bluster with a withering headmaster look. :love2:

I don't know if I'm in the right place for this, but this is a linguists expert opinion of Trump : "He's oddly adolescent for someone who's a senior citizen."

This morning's Politico Playbook has some useful stuff on what we might be able to expect by end of the week/next rolling lockdown renewal.

Codicil: I am very pleased carrie Symonds and her baby are doing well. Actual: I can't believe this going to him off the fucking hook AGAIN for media scrutiny of handling of pandemic. Boris home followed by Boris the (unknown times over) Dad. :lg:

Yes, from dead cats to live babies, he's never getting the level of scrutiny he should.

We should probably be blaming the media, not him. I don't want to though. I childishly want to accuse him of cynically fathering children to get out of getting told off. :lg:

Also, Keir needs to up his game. What's he actual doing? :lg:

And yes. Come on Kier. We need a leader.
