I just can’t work out which way this one will go. I’m reminded that Durham police didn’t fine Dominic Cummings. But it’s all a bit messy. Either the police are interfering in politics or the politicians are pressuring the police.

Given that a Tory MP* has been arrested tonight for alleged sex offences including rape, what are the odds that tomorrow’s papers are still rumbling on about Starmer and a bottle of beer?

* the one who has been unofficially named is not the one I thought it was going to be when the news broke.

Who did you think it was going to be, Rosy? MF sprang to mind for me immediately.

There are so many that wouldn’t be a surprise, aren’t there?

My Tory MP hadn’t even managed a full year in parliament before he was accused of sexual offences. I was expecting it to be him again (don’t know who it is).

I expected it to be MF but apparently the initials are AR.

It's so depressing though, I cannot* believe he has the utter brass neck to say that it was OK for them to have work leaving dos when people said goodbye to loved ones through a fucking ipad! When people watched funerals on Zoom or had 10 people there. He's an utter cunt and yet he'll get away with it again, his mouth breathing supporters will just brush it off, saying that it's time to move on :ella:

What is the point of any of it? He won't budge. He's like Trump. It's infuriating

It will be awful if Starmer resigns and Boris just carries on.

I don’t think I’ve ever felt so despairing at them. I can’t even get angry because it’s all so bloody predictable.

I can’t (can) believe the right wing newspapers are defending him.

The brusque, ‘move along… shut up talking about it now’ is pissing me off almost as much as the partying. Such arrogance.

The country will repeatedly keep voting in a corrupt and inept Tory party government, even whilst losing their jobs and money and services, rather than have a labour government. It's clear.
