Re: The Queen
I’d have thought with him being in Germany he’d come in separately.
I wonder why a helicopter didn’t just land at Balmoral rather than jet and car.

This will be amazing for the Government.
It’ll distract all the plebs from the economic crisis, give us something to unite over. Pomp, circumstance etc.

They only have a few helicopters I think - two? - and both are at Balmoral.
Kleio, you are spot on. The government will LOVE this. It's a gift.

Truss will have us all in workhouses before the mourning period is over.
It’s just gone apocalyptic rain/thunder outside.
It’s like a normal midlife crisis only with more chandeliers and foreign languages.

Well the Permanent Secretary of the Treasury has been sacked! The Tories are wasting no time.

Re: The Queen
I feel so sad about the Queen. I’m surprised by how upset I am.

I'm also very surprised at how sad I feel. It sounds a bit Daily Mail but I feel like the country is falling apart.

I've just read Harry is travelling to Balmoral alone. Poor sod, that will be horrible for him.

It’s really pissing me off how differently they’re dealing with the coverage of Katherine and Meghan. Pissed off but not surprised.
Katherine isn’t in Balmoral but that’s ok, Meghan isn’t there either but that’s obviously because she’s not welcome.

Re: The Queen
Well, their circumstances are somewhat different, Kleio!
I can completely see why Kate stayed home - first day at school for one child, first day at new school for the others, if it were my 96 year old grandmother-in-law I’d stay home too .
I can also see that the family might not be thrilled that the granddaughter in law who said in an interview just two weeks ago that she hadn’t signed any non-disclosure agreements, but she was really making an active effort to forgive the family, especially knowing that she could say anything, would be the most welcome figure at an emotional and private family gathering.

Yes, I think Meghan is doing the right thing in staying away.
It must be very hard for both boys not having their wives with them though.

Absolutely. Meghan and Catherine are in no way comparable in terms of behaviour and circumstances right now.

I just don’t think the press should be using the occasion to criticise Meghan. It’s all speculation anyway! I don’t actually like her but along with having press at Balmoral gates I don’t think it’s appropriate.

Re: The Queen
I'm very sad too. She is all most of the country has known. I'm glad that she could still carry out her duties right until the end.
