Re: The Queen
I absolutely love all the de-cellophaned floral tributes carefully placed around Windsor Castle, they make it look so beautiful. One of my earliest memories of being in the UK was seeing the sea of cellophane outside Kensington Palace for Diana, so this is a much better option.
It was the 2 minute silence followed by the lone piper that set me off, so very moving.

Re: The Queen
I really felt for the bearer party, so much pressure on them and the world watching. ETA, looks like the worst is yet to come, with all of those steps !
I can’t imagine having to grieve so publicly and having to put a brave face on.
It’s a long old day for everyone involved isn’t it, but one they’ll always remember being a part of.
Am I right in thinking that the foreign heads of state and Ex PMs etc aren’t going to Windsor? If so what do they do? I am guessing there’s probably some sort of ‘dinner ‘ for them .

Re: The Queen
They just said some foreign heads of state and politicians would be there. Tony Blair certainly is.

Yes, I saw our royals there and those from Denmark. No Bojo though!

Re: The Queen
I liked seeing pony Emma, but this feels like the longest parade by quite some margin!

Charles looks like he’s aged since this morning.
I think Blair is going as a Knight of the Garter.
I missed the corgis as I fell asleep.

I'm not sure I can watch the pallbearers having to deal with all these steps now.

Did you see the guard with his hand on the back of the coffin while they were going up the steps?

He’s done it a few times when there’s been steps involved.Flora Poste wrote: ↑Mon Sep 19, 2022 4:15 pm Did you see the guard with his hand on the back of the coffin while they were going up the steps?

Re: The Queen
Yes, it seems so precarious. This is a lot of steps!
