Re: The Queen
I do hope the men in the bearer party never have to buy a pint ever again in the regimental mess, they have done an amazing job (plus the ones in Scotland and on the FAF plane too, of course).

They look like children too. I bet they’re all under 25.

I didn't realise the bearers would be the same for every part. I bet their mums have been crying all day, they did so well.
Emma the pony was so lovely.
I've given up trying to do anything else today now.

I’ve just driven from South Devon to Bristol with the Radio 4 commentary (listening to pop music seemed wrong). I’ve just put the TV back on, but missed seeing the hearse strewn with flowers.

Besides I am fascinated by the stick breaking to come.

I thought that too, Bean, and I've been so anxious for them all day. They've done an excellent job.

How the hell do they all hold it together?

Re: The Queen
This service is beautiful and I'm finding it so much more affecting than the state funeral this morning.

Re: The Queen
They're all so young too, and I wonder how they got chosen and how many were held in reserve.

Every time I stop and reflect rather than just observing I become momentarily tearful, so you’re not alone Flora.

I like this choir better than Westminster. Also it has at least one woman that I’ve seen.

Wait until they remove that crown and sceptre. It's going to be bad.

This service was much more moving, I agree. The stick wasn't as dramatic as I thought it might be.

I hope the family get a couple of days now to relax and have some private mourning.

Charles looked very close to tears then.

Re: The Queen
He was definitely close to tears towards the end.
I hope they can go and have a few drinks and tears in private now.

Re: The Queen
It's been a long day for them. I feel tired and all I've done is watch from the sofa.
