No, that's what I thought too :mog: Dude, if you're this bad on dope, god help you without it.

I was delighted for him too, it must feel so so sweet.

World champs road race is on BBC red button, in case anyone was interested/didn’t know.

I hate that. And then they use it as evidence that people are more interested in men's sports. :ella:

Giro has started! :toot:

I'm actually enjoying having cycling to watch during the day when it's cold and rainy and you don't want to be out and about.

Thats true actually. I don't enjoy the eurosport coverage though.

It's not the best. There's also highlights on Quest.

He was quite unnecessarily rude about Campenaerts' complaints about the road.

Feel very sorry for Lopez.

So disappointed for Geraint

I absolutely cannot bear the eurosport coverage, whichever commentator is doing the ridiculous flourish on any foreign name is driving me mad. we're going to try the quest highlights tomorrow.

Yeah, the vuelta is on itv4. I agree. Its miles better.

Wiggins is ....yeah. I’ve never found him totally likeable either. I bet he's a fucking nightmare to know.

ITV4 is definitely better.

I hate Wiggins now. I always found the mod thing really affected but I really dislike him doing punditry. He can't even say Geraint's name properly FFS.

I haven't seen the accident video but it seems like he'll pull out. It's such a shame.

I feel like there must be a reason for Yates dropping back but maybe he's just out of condition.

I like the itv4 coverage (mostly) but Eurosport is awful. It’s such a shame for Thomas, though how he managed to ride with a fractured hip is amazing!

I'm kind of a bit ago at that! How did he get it, and how come the rest of the peleton haven't been struck down when they're shoulder to shoulder for hours?!

Amazing for Alex Dowsett. I've always liked him so I'm really pleased.

Would there not still be time for others to start testing positive? I'm never sure how accurate immediate negatives are. I guess otherwise, they are still outside moving quickly? And maybe he's not a 'super spreader''? Hard to say. As for where he got it, they move hotel to hotel, it only requires one point of failure i guess (including himself). The general public come very close to them at times on the race (though that doesn't seem as bad in the giro as some stages of the tour, and it would seem to be quite difficult to catch it off someone when you pass them so fleetingly).

Dowsett was great. Really good win.

Yeah, that's a good point. Although you'd think even outside, being that close and breathing out all over each other would be a huge risk. I guess if no one else/hardly any others get it is really good evidence for outside being so much better than inside.

Yeahhh, 4 of them have it now, I've just seen, MS have pulled out. Interesting to see if it spreads further in the peloton.

I'll be devastated if they decide the Vuelta isn't viable now.

I mean, I know it's not the most important thing in all this but if we're going to be in and out of lockdowns and I can't see my family then a bit of cycling is pretty cheering and distracting.

I hadn't seen that. BBC says Michael Mathews has it too (Sunweb). I wonder if there'll be more, seems likely, doesn't it? I'm really sceptical they'll finish it now, or start the Vuelta. We'd be really disappointed too, I thought a few times how I hope professional sports can carry on in the winter, because they'll be precious little else to entertain anyone. Specially given the situation in Spain.
