Oh la la mon Dieu! It’s nearly time for the Olympics.

Two weeks of almost non stop sport (and the good stuff!) makes me a very happy Hazey. And all of those lovely memories of how utterly wonderful everything was 12 years ago.

Swimming and gymnastics and diving and weird stuff that I only watch every 4 years…. Heaven.

I’m really looking forward to this now.

We’ll be at the women’s rugby sevens next week, and the volleyball and the basketball (no idea which days!).

After missing out on London in person due to a brand new person emerging from me, this is going to be quite special.

You will all have a great time, Pip! We made the most of the London Olympics and caught loads of events. Such good memories.

I'm looking forward to Paris.

enjoy it Pip. It will be marvellous. I am jealous. I was a volunteer in 2012 and will be doing some weekend shifts at the FanZone in Kings Cross during the Games. Really looking forward to it.

I adore the Olympics and Paralympics! Especially when I find myself obsessing over some random sport like Weight Lifting. I missed quite a bit of the 2012 Olympics due to MissA being in hospital (mainly Super Saturday  ) but once she was home, I was glued to the telly. One of my colleagues says that Lady Gaga is doing the opening ceremony which would be amazing!

The talk is that Celine Dion is doing it. It's true that the French have a harder time finding native musical superstars to perform, unlike us in 2012. :))

I might avoid the opening ceremony and rewatch London 2012 instead on Friday

Have an amazing time, Pip!

As I appear to have booked myself 2 weeks on the sofa, I fully intend to make the most of this opportunity and watch everything!

I’m jealous as heck Flora. I’ll be watching as much as I possibly can.

I have this link saved https://www.bbc.com/sport/olympics/pari ... 2024-07-24

I have tickets for three events in Paris but might have to sell them all as I’ve not arranged any travel or a person to come with me! I am supposed to be in Lyon for women’s football on Sunday and then the week after next canoe slalom in Paris and handball in Lille. I had grand visions of spending two weeks in France bopping about and soaking it all in but clearly I underestimated the amount of life happening at me and I’m not sure I can be arsed with any of it!

I’ll watch as much as I can from home if I don’t travel though. Has anyone bothered to get the Discovery subscription for it?

I'd assumed it would all be on BBC as before! Fortunately I have Discovery+ as part of my Sky package, but I would pay.

Luckily Mr P already has Discovery + for the cycling, so we are sorted!

I have Discovery+ but, if I remember rightly from the last weird COVID games, it was really difficult to find the right things to watch.

It's very annoying that it isn't all on the BBC. I'm watching the opening ceremony now though.

I bet Lisa Nandy is having the time of her life this summer, getting invited to everything.
