I always imagine Adrians to be a spectacled, academic type, probably with leather elbow patches. I think Russells are a bit hoo-ha (which mine certainly isn't) which is why I am not keen.

I had a massive crush on a Russell as a teen. Both of us were too shy to act on it and then it turned out he was gay.

My friend's husband is an Adrian. I was trying to get her together with another friend so I pointed out Adrian is an anagram for "A drain" but she married him and told him so now he always signs off my birthday cards "Love, The Drain".

Rosy, you're kind of right, but I would rather find reasons why I could never get together with this man rather than face the fact he is soooo out of my league.

His surname is good too.
