Liv also liked the watermelon one but for some reason I found a fluffy watermelon weird (while a fluffy croissant is ok?!

I had to google the croissant bag as I couldn’t envisage it at all. It’s very cute.

God my teens are so boring. I am buying them clothes. And books.
They both have goth girlfriends. Should I indulge myself by buying them a present?

Re: Hatchling presents 2023
Do it Ruby.
We’ve bought Chunk a TV and I’ve prefer Squeak straighteners. Then they’re just having things for their stockings. The TV was a lot more than the straighteners, but she gets so much throughout the year and he currently doesn’t.
I need to sort out one nephew on my side. The eldest wants money towards a bass guitar, so I’ll wrap it with a jar of Nutella or another form of chocolate. The littlest nephews have hulk hands, a chocolate lolly maker & a fitness watch.
Jellycat stuff is always so lovely. Their instagram is a lot of fun too.

I’ve bought nothing and have no ideas. Looks like my 19 and 17 year old nephews will be staying on Christmas Eve so I might make them stockings too.

That sounds perfect, ruby. I must admit I do enjoy the makeup-buying.

Yes, please do this! I'm living vicariously through you. My Taylor topper would be empty handed. :cry:emma_p wrote: ↑Wed Nov 22, 2023 8:11 pmThis is genius!Princess Morripov wrote: ↑Wed Nov 22, 2023 6:12 pm I feel like Taylor could defo be swapped out as a Christmas Day tree topper  perhaps holding the tickets?![]()

I have impulsively ordered them both Nintendo Switch Lites in the Black Friday sales so that will do them.

S has decided an older iPhone we had would do to let him get a console  So now we need to wait a few days for his confirmation and see what consoles are about.

I got a nice haul of foodie things at an asian grocery store yesterday. Ramen hot sauce, really cute mini food-making sets, and German Haribro of all things. Good for stocking stuffers and a few extra little gifts.

I'm thanking past me for getting the girls to set up Goodreads accounts. They're more discerning in what they'll read nowadays so I'm wary of buying their 'something to read' blind, but I found a list of suggestions for Sproglette and picked a YA murder mystery series. When I went to check she hadn't already read it on Goodreads, I found them on her Want to Read list. :yay: Elvis is a bit easier, she's getting the new Brian Bilston Christmas one.

Oh that's good! I'm now wondering if in fact R has a Goodreads account. I'm puzzling over what to buy her, as she's a voracious reader. I'm leaning towards a classic that may have gone under her radar.
I just put The Book That No One Wanted To Read by Richard Ayoade in my basket for B.

Re: Hatchling presents 2023
I’m pretty much done, but after wrapping everything yesterday I think Biggie is short a couple of things so I’ve ordered more weapons  as I had previously vetoed “Black Panther claws” so he’ll be thrilled with that  and I think just one more thing and they’ll be equal :))
We’ve also got some bead and loom band kits because they love making bracelets, and why not add those into the mix of “things to tread on” alongside the Lego :mog:
I’ve done a treasure hunt for them to find their Christmas Eve boxes and we also have the Polar Express on the 22nd (so I’ve made them fake train tickets to surprise them with on the day), and we have Disney on Ice booked for next year, and a trip to Blackpool between Christmas and new year (Tupac loves Strictly so I’ve booked afternoon tea at the Tower Ballroom) so lots of nice things planned, I’m just so excited to see their little Christmas dreams come true

I've just been going through this list and adding things from it to my Amazon basket for A. https://www.amightygirl.com/holiday-gui ... lter=4&p=2
Who knew that she needed a Kalimba? Not her, anyway, because she doesn't have any idea what she wants. I blame t'Internet. In my day :granny: , we just watched ads on TV and wanted everything. Now the young people never see ads (if carefully managed) and don't even know what's possible to want. :ella: :sman:

I can't make Christmas dreams come through for mine as they keep changing their bloody minds every five minutes.
See: wanted a very specific toy that they played with at a friend's house, not made any more so had to scour secondhand sites for ages, was really pleased when I managed to buy one, when I read it again on Tim's list yesterday 'oh I don't want that any more'. :elf2:
Also: 'I want a toy that is Santa's workshop with elves'. She's this exist? After lots of searching, discovered I could buy a Playmobil one. Gave it to them early as otherwise thought it would be the type of thing played with for five minutes on Christmas day and then never again (and wasn't cheap). When going through the lists yesterday 'what about Santa's workshop?' 'Well, you got that as a special early present.' 'Yes, I want one that isn't a Playmobil one.' :elf2:
Also: absolutely Paw Patrol mad, couldn't get enough of it, their favourite thing ever. Got loads of Paw Patrol stuff. 'I hate Paw Patrol now mummy.' :elf2:
Next year they're just getting a satsuma each.

Oh and Zoom mine just make things up that they want. 'I would like a gingerbread man toy, a hard one not a cuddly. If that's too difficult then a gingerbread house and a gingerbread woman. And a family of dolls all the same size as my grey bunny toy with hard tummies and soft arms.‘
'A hard toy of Elsa when she's little.'
'A Christmas tree that does songs.'

Re: Hatchling presents 2023
Ken, I gavs mine a Smyths catalogue each to look through, and then told them they could only pick two things to ask from Father Christmas, and then a couple of things from us, and then did some “ah but don’t you think that would be better?” negotiation when random things like £349.99 Virtual Reality headsets had been circled
Maybe get a catalogue to help them visualise?
