Re: Hatchlings Presents 2024
Our granddaughter (age 12) we are giving her a daisy covered robe, a mini karaoke machine and the Taylor Swift Eras book.
Our grandson (age 5) will be given a strange monkey robot that is apparently his number one request that my daughter has given us the first pick, plus we bought him Batman pajamas with a cape and Batman Lego.
Nephew #1 (age 12) we are giving him a Detroit Lions football and blanket (specifically requested) and a Nike Lacrosse hoodie.
Nephew #2 (age 12) will receive two carefully chosen model cars by Mr5 because the two of them share this strange interest.
Dande, which Oodie does S want? and can we see a photo of this hobby horse?

S has a Harry Potter Oodie and she loves it.
I’ve just ordered her a pair of Adidas Gazelles too.

Don’t joke. She is frequently seen out in the garden trotting around with one of her beloved Le Mieux ponies held out in front of her, and she owns a jump. So quite possibly. I have held off getting her a hobby horse as I didn’t want her to be weird but it’s all she wants.ParisGal wrote: ↑Sun Dec 01, 2024 8:11 am Is F going to compete?

Weirdly we did Santa letters today and Topsy asked for a hobby horse. And then Tim did too. They were less specific about which one though.
Topsy also asked for a real fishing rod and a motorbike helmet.

I was watching Billie and Greg the family diaries and their daughter has one, and all the jumps etc.

A hobby horse is so specific! I love it.
Any tips on the Eras book? I’d love it for Liv but it seems impossible in the UK. I wish target shipped overseas!
She’s pretty easy to buy for and just wants dancewear, clothes, skincare and make up. We are in full tween mode at age 9! George would like a monitor and a wifi booster for his new room.

Aww, the Finnish hobby horse girls were on the news here a while back which was why I mentioned it. I mean, it's odd to us, but actually no more weird than pushing around toy cars, and there's bonus exercise too!

Re: Hatchlings Presents 2024
If you don't have luck there I don't mind being a middle woman shipper here but shipping costs may be steep (I just sent some scrub daddies to my friend in Canada and a CD to my Dad in the UK it cost me $20-25 a piece!).
I love F and the hobby horse.
To add to the things already on the list, I have also got L some ramen toppings and need to find something equivalent for S. Also L and I went to a local artists crystal/stone sale and we got S a big polished ammonite that's been sliced in half (I felt bad only take the one half  I felt like I should take both parts).
For advent calendar this year I'm going basic with chocolate and candy but for days 1 and 2 I also gave then a christmas tree decoration and a christmas tshirt.

Half-ten?! Half-ten?! I've never been up at half-ten! What happens?

Re: Hatchlings Presents 2024
The shipping cost from here (MI) to London for one pound is $29 - we sent a pound of starbursts to Mr5's friend in London and the shipping was far more than the candy and it never arrived! I've just bought a Detroit Lions jersey for same friend and want to send it to cheer him up (cancer treatment) and am worried it won't make it there. I don't think the issue is Royal Mail, so it may be state to state.
I like the idea of starting Advent with a Christmas ornament and Tshirt

Re: Hatchlings Presents 2024
Shipping is causing me a lot of headaches right now. I just order B a specialist gaming mousepad from the states yesterday, which was pretty much the last posting date they recommended for getting it here by xmas. And who knows if it will even make it - despite charging $29 shipping. Canada Post remains on strike, and now Amazon has gone completely off the grid it seems. Mr LM is in the states right now, so I may try to get him to buy a few things, but he's not terribly reliable either. :))

Re: Hatchlings Presents 2024
That's really stressful, is he old enough that he wouldn't mind too much if he got it after the actual day?
I've just discovered that Amazon are not going to deliver a big order I made last week until the end of December. Originally due 27 December, and then after phoning them and paying for expedited delivery which they promised would come on 7 December it's now saying 28 December. :ella: I think I'm going to have to restyle it as epiphany presents.

Re: Hatchlings Presents 2024
This is my issue, Ken! On my last two Amazon orders they literally changed expected delivery dates immediately AFTER I ordered to something utterly vague and ridiculous, so I just don't trust them now. I think there may have been some BF strike action in America?
B will be OK about lateness, given that he printed out a list of exact requirements. But I was rather hoping to have gifts for his birthday next week! I think that might be Lego and aftershave that I can buy in person.

Oh no, I'd missed that it's his birthday too, that's even more frustrating then. Hope you can get some good stuff in actual shops.

What were the hit gifts this year then?
R was very pleased with her Beats headphones, and B especially liked his new boxing gloves (I'd noticed his old ones were comically small and unusable!).

Re: Hatchlings Presents 2024
Foamy soap and craft stuff (particularly little bottles of squeezy glue) have been big hits with all.
Topsy and Tim have both loved their Lego sets. Topsy just got one from an aunt as she had decided she hated Lego, but she really enjoyed doing it so I'm hoping she got the Lego buzz. Yoto cards have all been listened to and Tim has really liked his new chapter books, and Topsy her new unicorn books.
Teddy got really cross at getting some wooden stacking stones. I'm hoping he'll like them after he figures them out. The hobby horses have actually all been played with a lot more than I expected.
I got Topsy some unicorn plastic finger puppets as she wanted unicorns she could play with in the bath, but she claimed she hadn't said that when she opened them. She hasn't played with the Playmobil mermaids she wanted either, and Tim hasn't really touched the little penguins he asked for.
