Re: Juvenile Jibber Jabber
BM was in floods of tears tonight - she loves art, but she didn't understand the task she was given last week, and when she asked for clarification she still didn't understand and the teacher told her to sit down.
We had a big chat about how art was supposed to be about self expression, not following instructions, AND that if she doesn't understand something, then it's the teacher's job to find a different way to explain it.
Me: So what do you need when you go in tomorrow?
BM: A better teacher

S (4) - what's the scariest plant? BamBOO!
Me - that's a good joke!
S (with serious face and voice) - it's not a joke.

If your back's against the wall, turn around and write on it.

J: Mum, you know how werewolves can change without a full moon if they get really angry? Well what if they have mental health problems? Because some people can't help getting really angry, so it's not their fault, is it?
I welcome the compassion but I really don't have the capacity to worry about mentally ill mythical creatures right now.

Lovely J.
Overheard at the school bus stop by my niece (the little ones are just starting to learn a bit of French): "So if Oui Oui means 'yes', does Poo Poo mean 'no'?" One mum looks embarrassed while the others try hard not to laugh.

Pete: “mummy, I will be a unicorn and you can be a horse”
Me: “very nice. Now please EAT YOUR LUNCH IT HAS BEEN 50 YEARS SINCE I GAVE IT TO YOU”
Pete, unblinking: “horses don’t talk, mummy”

TD: Watching pineapple being cut is mesmerising. Almost as much as a person being murdered.
