Gp should be able to make a referral, therapist also might be able to, but that depends on the local service referral criteria. Best to start with GP, I think!

You’ll need a GP referral, I think. At least, we did. Would also be good for you to be in touch with the school’s SEND department because the school might also have to fill out a questionnaire. As with so many things, it’s likely to take a while so good to start investigating.

Thank you. I’ve left a message for her head of year today as all communication has to go through them. Next step will be to email the GP.

Do I have to give the GP a list of reasons why we think that’s what it is?

Yes, I purposely requested a GP that had knowledge/interest but it’s a big practice so that might not be possible for you. Then I went and discussed his history, characteristics, what he struggled with etc.

We just had a stressful week of coaxing R into finishing her art school application. She has wanted to go to this high school FOREVER, but apparently could not pull together her portfolio until the very, very last minute. In the lead-up we knew this would happen, and I was very hardline about letting her sink or swim since she's the one driving the decision to go there. Naturally we caved and helped as much as we could, on the periphery.

It's in now, and she will hear by next week. :fc:

We were blown away by her writing skills. We don't get to see much of her work at school these days, and she really shines!

Thanks Smunder. They're still keeping us in suspense. :twitch: My theory is today might be the day though.

Thanks everyone! I'm just wading through the paperwork right now, as it has to be submitted by next week. (Or else!)

It's nice to relax about it now, and just enjoy the last few months of elementary.

Did you get everything in Little My? R must be thrilled - when does she actually start?

Sproglette's progress report came through and looks good - she's generally exceeding some or more of what's expected and her effort, homework and equipment marks are all good. More importantly, she told me at the weekend that she was looking forward to going back Monday now she has some friends so it seems she's more settled.

A couple of hours later, I got an email to say she's in the top 10% for her year group and they all get to go to a lunch with the head teacher. I'm not sure how she'll feel about that. I reckon that's about 30 children or so, so not too intense.

Well done to Sproglette!

We’ve got the parents viewing in a couple of weeks, I’ve not been inside since I left, and they’ve had major construction work, so I’m rather looking forward to that aspect :l:

Will he be going to your old school, Glint? That kind of blows my mind!

Well done to D, Wendy! That’s really good, esp about looking forward to going back after half term.

P and I have both said it's a bit sad that the girls won't go to any school we did. There are parents of her peers who went to the high school Sproglette now goes to.

I hope you enjoy the nosey around Glint!
