I am irrationally irritated that we submit work via the assignment but tons of kids just post their work straight onto the main classroom page especially for art. Not that I show S (i do it all on my phone) but he thinks he’s shit at art already, he doesn’t need to see everyone else’s work. I also think it must be tough to manage for the teachers!

No, that doesn’t explain it. They all have the same igh sound to me.Heebie Jeebie wrote: ↑Wed May 06, 2020 10:10 pmOh here we go when we start this on TMT Here high would rhyme with sky, but eg night or bright would rhyme with kite. Does that even explain it? I don't know if English people would say kite the same way as the others.
I like that Smal, as a project.

I keep wanting to give other examples like tight or fight but I bet you say them the same way too It's a much shorter sound when we say night, compared to high which rhymes with aye.

Agh I'm desperate to know how they sound different. I'm usually good with this stuff. Can you spell it phonetically?

Kite, fight and bright are all the same for me too whereas high and sky are different. The first lot are quite short harsh sounds whereas the igh in high is longer and softer.Heebie Jeebie wrote: ↑Thu May 07, 2020 5:57 pm I keep wanting to give other examples like tight or fight but I bet you say them the same way too It's a much shorter sound when we say night, compared to high which rhymes with aye.
