We Probably will I think, though not particularly regularly. I guess it depends if the rules change to make it officially allowed soon and/or school goes back (though they're not in the same bubbles, but then at least I'd know W was getting some social juice from somewhere iyswim)

Does anyone know if you’re able to tuck an 11 year old into a basket with a blanket and a note then leave them on the doorstep of a Convent? Asking for a friend.

We have an extreme case of back to school misery in our house. I'm hesitant to post as we are the lucky few going back but this has been so damaging for everyone. It really feels like the entire nation's mental health is at breaking point now. And I do not envy the teachers because they will be getting all these children back in a far worse state than they did last time.

Don't feel bad Heebs. I can completely understand kids really not wanting to go back, we're all bloody hermits now, afraid of the sun and other people. Hopefully after a couple of days he'll feel settled again (or at least, not upset).

Hopefully the familiarity and routine will be soothing after a day or so, Heebs. And seeing his buddies will be a great distraction from any misgivings Beebie might have tonight.

I’ve got one who is desperate to go back and another who is desperate to stay at home - they will both benefit massively from going back though.

This is going to be so, so hard on them all. I've also got one desperate to go back and one who'd like to live like this forever. I'm a bit in the second camp which worries me hugely, it feels like just giving up. I think we just need to remember the resilience of kids (poor sods, they've had to rely on their magical resilience so much!) and how much better they are at adapting to change. Urgh to all of it though. I hope it goes ok, Heebie!

I hope it's ok when he's there, Heebs. Both Berty and TD have been stressed this evening about going back, and they love school. Grateful as I am for their places, it's definitely not normal school so I can understand the nerves. Hopefully they'll all be ok when they actually get there. TD's teacher is lovely, but Berty's thinks the whole ASD thing is her "trying it on", which is adding to her anxiety. (She has written a massively unhelpful report to the assessment team, so I just have to hope they are familiar with how well some children can mask.)

My chaps are full of doom about school - even remote school - tomorrow. The lack of normality is really messing with them. The SAM in particular is bad tempered. I am very bored with this pandemic now. It can go fuck itself.

Poor hatchlings. This is ridiculously hard on them.

Bambs is in a state. She accidentally deleted her college work folder last night, while trying to get organized for going back today, and as she saved locally to a Chromebook, it's all gone. 18 months of A Level notes and all the work she hasn't handed in. I'm at a loss, to be honest.

When saw the consultant about J for the first time, he said that the teacher’s questionnaire didn’t indicate that the problem wasn’t quite enough to consider medication but we talk it through, told him everything that had been tried and he really listened to us, the parents. Hopefully your team will do that too.

Ministers on TV saying all schools from March 8th. I cannot give headspace to whether this is actually a good idea or not so I'm chosing to be happy about it.

Just worried now Ws school won't have a replacement for his teacher yet. It was only advertised about a month ago.

eta: Oh Beena, god. I feel sick thinking about it. Poor Bambs. Is there no recovering it??
